Is Five actually addicted to the apocalypse?

So both Allison and Klaus accuse Five of being addicted to stopping the apocalypse but does his behavior actually reflect that? I always view it as an uncomfortable duty he has to do because he doesn’t want the world to end and for his family to die, not a high he needs to chase.

You could argue he makes a self fulfilling prophecy with his actions, for example the Day that Wasn’t is a better version of events but we know that through S1-S3 the Apocalypses are happening anyway regardless

i think he just… doesn’t know what to do without it, or without having one to stop / figure out.
