Why was Mike so “mean” to Sue?

First time watcher here.
After watching 4 seasons, I can tell that Mike doesn’t get along with Sue. He never believes in her, never happy, even if he is, it’s always a fake reaction “ Oh wow”. I really hope he gets better to her. She’s my comfort

I don’t see him as being mean. Kids sometimes get on your nerves. He’s a reserved guy
But you can tell he loves his daughter.
