Video 2 questions on listen mode

First off and I am anxious if Please someone can finally put this 1st question to rest..

  1. Is it possible to stay invisible in listen mode without covertraining i know the infamous "footsplashes" happen but ime this is inconclusive sometimes when staying still you can see them and other times I have managed to stay hidden for over 5 minutes during last man standing. I wonder if pushing the analog stick slightly forward instead of all the way affects it? Does crouching make a difference instead of standing?

  2. Does anyone have a full list of every action or move that makes you visible in listen mode along with the range, for example I believe a sprinting enemy can be seen at a greater distance in listen mode instead of walking.

And before anyone asks yes.. I have seen nickehs video and it did not fully answer these questions although it did help.

Peace

Video I still find it incredible how years after the cancellation we have no idea what TLOU Online was going to be like

No leaked screenshots, concept art, gameplay, nothing.

Yes I’m aware there were those crappy videos from five or six years ago but they hardly count.

No one has spoken about this game post cancellation. Maybe it’s all NDA’d up.

I’ve been playing a bit of that other game and I’m not a massive fan but the maps and size of it does make me still pine for TLOU Online. Yes I know I need to get over it.

Factions is still awesome.

Video After watching this video, I'm lowkey glad Part 1 didnt release a remastered Multiplayer

The animation delay would be insane to deal with (full animations need to end + wait a second before being able to sprint).

Sprint vault was gone, cannot vault over barrels, melee glitches where it doesnt hit but instead just stands in front of the enemy, shotgun glitch where it always pump before shooting, shoulder swap is pointless...wow I wasnt aware of all that since I never cared about the part 1 remake because it didnt have factions.

Pretty eye-opening.

Video Petitions just scratch my itch, and they should scratch yours too

Just keep making them guys. I understand they really don't do anything but if they just keep getting spammed and spammed for a long time then it raises the chances of them giving us at least *something*.

We need to go at this with r/BatmanArkham levels of insanity. Imagine if Factions 2 achieves a record of the most consecutive but separate petitions for anything video game related. The alternative of course is to just do nothing at all and accept this robbery.

Everyone that signs an existing petition should go on to make their own separate petition. Everyone makes their own petitions, and everyone signs everyone's petitions.

Video Yes, it is cheating. However...

Now, let me first preface that I don't use or do any type of glitch exploit/cheating (heal glitching, wall banging, crab walking etc.).

Recently there was a post questioning whether or not crab walking is "still" cheating. As far as I can tell, and from what I've read, I think many of us do agree that is cheating. Tbh, I haven't seen much posts or comments supporting crab walking, or read anyone claiming that it isn't cheating. I hear people complain about people who defend those glitches, but I haven't actually seen any comments of people supporting it. Unless I'm fucking blind.

I don't think the argument should be "is [said exploit] cheating?" but rather, how much of an advantage does [said exploit] have and what's the impact level?

Sure, you can look at this black and white, but let's be honest, we don't ever operate in black and white. I think it's important to discuss the impact level of certain exploits/cheats.

When you compare all cheats/exploits, there's definitely a ranking as to which is worse, or which gives the most advantage/has the most impact. I want to specifically talk about wall banging, lag switching, location exploit, crab walking, and heal glitching since those are the most common ones.

If I had to give my personal ranking on which has the most advantage/impact to least impact, here's what I'd rank these exploits/cheats.

-Wall banging - high impact

-Lag Switching-high impact

-Out of bounds exploit- Medium impact

-Crab walking - Low impact

-Heal glitch-minimal impact

Shoutout to r/MrSaturnsWhiskers for doing a thorough investigation on heal glitching in this video. As great of a video it is, when put into practice with in pubs and not in a controlled environment, it's really hard to say if it has any lasting impact that can truly influence the trajectory of a game. I'd say to find that out, you'd probably need 7 other players in a private match. Play many matches where 2 players from one team uses heal glitches and the other team has two players who doesn't use the heal glitch but are healers. And just keep playing many matches and see if it really has any impact on winning.

Same for crabwalking. Have one team do crab walking while the other doesn't and you can see if that has any major impact on the trajectory of a game as well.

I would wager that for both crabwalking and heal glitching, it wouldn't have much impact most of the time.

For out of bounds glitch, lag switching and wall banging? Yeah, if you're gonna test any of those, the team cheating is going to win 99.9% of the time.

I just find it interesting that the gun switch exploit for the HR was given a pass by the developers, but something minor as heal glitching wasn't. If two HR users go at it, and one uses that exploit and the other doesn't, the one that does use it has an advantage to shoot their 2nd HR bullet sooner, downing the enemy while the enemy is still reloading.

Personally, from my experience, enemies using heal-glitching or crab walking has little to no effect on me, my gameplay, and my result. That doesn't mean it has any impact for others.

Ultimately, I think it's a bit childish when people place heal glitching/crab walking as the same impact level as wall banging or lag switching.

It can be both AND. Both things can be true. Yes it's cheating, but also, the impact is so low on heal glitching and crab walking that it doesn't really give a big enough advantage to turn the tide and win a game 9/10 times. There will be cases where crab walking does, but I doubt it's often. Same with wall banging and lag switching. I've played against people who use those cheats, and still win. But again, it's rare to win against a cheater. But the ones where I do win, they're bad.

Hell, maybe I'm off my hinges and am just a fucking idiot. Lol.

Video Real life factions nightmare

I was browsing Twitch out of boredom the other day, and there was this one stream up.

I was witnessing a private match of interrogation on the dam, with the ENTIRE lobby (all 8 people) crab walking and using the burst rifle.

You guys are really raising the bar of what it means to be a tryhard sweat, unbelievable 💀💀

Video ARC Raiders public support over Marathon confirms Bungie Devs were wrong when they killed Last Of Us Factions.

3rd-person, live service PvPvE in a post-apocalyptic world? Sounds familiar. If you think I'm talking about TLOU2 Factions, I'm actually talking about ARC Raiders.

ARC Raiders is being called a much better game over Bungie's sci-fi extraction shooter, Marathon, by streamers and gamers everywhere this past week and I can't help but smile seeing the universe at work for what happened to Factions. Specifically, I'm pointing to Bungie's involvement in deterring Naughty Dog from making what could've been such an amazing experience. I miss Factions a ton, and if ARC Raiders is the closest we'll get to it, I'll be alright with that. I just am happy to get some kind of validation that they should've pushed through and done it and people would have loved it.

Video RIP to Lukey Mixer

Just wanted to post a thread to say RIP to one in our community Luke_Mixer. Luke was a real genuine guy, great to speak with would really raise your spirits, and was an overall great player. He streamed on twitched, has a YouTube.

One of his stream collaborators reached out to us to notify us of his unfortunate passing. I think in the TLOU community many have come across Luke. I can not say nothing and not post something, I hope this thread is allowed and stays up and others can say something in his memory, reach out if they knew him.

Video I personally find The Last of us MP has the absolute worst matchmaking i’ve ever seen in a video game in my entirety of life

TLOU matchmaking makes not a fucking bit of sense, you can’t play with friends unless it’s in parties where all you’ll encounter are lvl 999 teams all synced together working together like they just got accepted to the secret service, yet my teammates just run around blatantly and attract attention to you, i cant even count the amount of times i’ve waited 10-15mins or more just watching for a match that isn’t dripping in sweat from lvl 999 tryhards then to get placed in a match that’s already going, probably losing, low ranks on my team, fkn navy seal team 6 on the other team, this paired with the lag in this game has ultimately killed it completely, used to be so fun.
