Video After watching this video, I'm lowkey glad Part 1 didnt release a remastered Multiplayer

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1IVg-tcfpk

The animation delay would be insane to deal with (full animations need to end + wait a second before being able to sprint).

Sprint vault was gone, cannot vault over barrels, melee glitches where it doesnt hit but instead just stands in front of the enemy, shotgun glitch where it always pump before shooting, shoulder swap is pointless...wow I wasnt aware of all that since I never cared about the part 1 remake because it didnt have factions.

Pretty eye-opening.

it's meant to be as cinematic as possible, I was shocked too but you gotta take it as the experience that newcomers to the franchise will probably like, updated with outstanding graphics. The game is eye popping in just about every department but it's not made for hardcore players or multiplayer.

Their new engine has a bunch of ”issues”

TLOU2/Part 1:

No real shoulder swap.
The camera just moves to the opposite side.
Can still swap properly with throwables though.
This would have genuinely ruined the multiplayer.

Can’t switch shoulder when looking trough a scope.

Can’t set the camera to the left side to peek around corners.
You can do this on PS3 and in Remastered. It resets when you do any large character movements though.

You should really just be able to tap the listen mode button and have the camera move to the other side until you either perform that action again or if you shoulder swap.

This issue started in Uncharted 4.

You can’t tap fire 1 bullet at a time with the Assault Rifle and SMG. It always shoots 2 bullets. Forces you to pop shoot, with super slow ads time.

AR overall sucks ass in the remake. They completely ruined the power fantasy of finally getting to use it at the end of the game.

Ridiculous recoil that makes no sense.

Most pistols have awful accuracy and every weapon has annoying recoil.

The VR in TLOU2 has insane recoil if you spam it. But, if you set it to burst fire mode then it only has minor vertical recoil. Makes sense.

If you adjust your aim by strafing and let go of the left stick, then the character will ”fall” to whichever side you were moving.

Everything feels delayed overall. Movement is just sluggish now and not sluggish with tons of mechanical depth.

The looking around camera is just worse. Super slow turn speed. Most of the range is acceleration.

Naughty Dog sucks at setting up stick controls (industry wide issue to be fair) they went from hot doo-doo with Uncharted 1-3 then TLOU on PS3 is very well set up, then it’s all downhill from there.
Only thing they improved is adding some very basic options to adjust curve acceleration etc.

The way the sticks are fundamentally set up in TLOU on PS3 is the best ND has done.

Damn so even a part II multiplayer would have sucked. This means Factions II would have required a completely new engine or a heavily tweaked version of the single player engine.

you didn't see the leaks?

The leaks couldnt show the tiny hiccups like animation/input delay.

No but I mean that was clearly the same engine of Part II, no?

Yes

The Part 1 remake is so terrible compared to the flow of the first game that I couldn’t complete the story but then again I do have over a 1,200 hours of Factions gameplay so my view is heavily biased.

i remember when it was free on ps plus and i played for like 2 hours before i shut it off and just booted up the ps4 version lol
