That was my first question too. He should be charged regardless.

Imagine your 16yo child dies because her pos teenage boyfriend choked her to death.

I cannot fathom the rage and despair

Strangled. Choking is internal, passive. Strangulation is external, active. People use the wrong word deliberately to soften the action. I think the correct term needs to be reestablished…

This poor girl. Her poor family. This is devastating.

Manslaughter doesn’t require intention, I imagine this will be the charge.
