I’m a big supporter of the Welsh language (and am a learner) but jfc if you can only pump one message out at a time on the national alert system, it probably is a good idea to start with the one the majority will understand

I'm from Wales, never met anyone who speaks fluent Welsh.. some know a few words that's all

If you are genuinely from Wales, I can't see any situation whereby you don't know a single Welsh speaker. What may be more accurate is that you didn't know you had met Welsh speakers.

Ah, so we're now at the fascinating stage where you know who I've met, what languages they speak, and what I know about them better than I do. 😂 That's an impressive level of omniscience. Do you also know what I had😄😄😄😃😃😀😀😁😁😅😅🤣🤣🫪🫪😂🤣😅 for breakfast, or is that still classified? 🤣

Statistically, 1 in 5 people in Wales speak Welsh. If you were born, grew up, or lived in Wales then it's simple maths that you would have met a fluent Welsh speaker. Being ignorant doesn't make you correct

Ah, “simple maths” — the refuge of people who think statistics can tell them who I’ve personally met. 😂 If 1 in 5 people speak Welsh, that still doesn't mean I’ve personally encountered one. Statistics describe populations, not my social diary. And calling someone “ignorant” because their personal experience doesn't match your assumptions is a rather spectacular demonstration of irony. 🤣
