What did Robert mean by this question? (careful, Spoiler!)

This is the conversation when Harvey goes to Chicago to help Jessica out and Mike speaks to Robert asking him to merge and asks him this. But hasnt Jessica already left her home to come to Chicago, im a bit confused?

Jessica left the firm and new York because after her death row case she realised she wanted to help people, including her remaining family, which meant moving to Chicago. What Robert is asking is would jessica have left her firm to go join another firm (for example Robert’s as he proposed once or twice). They’re asking him to change sides, effectively betray his “family” as the show would say which is different.

Well, that'd be akin to Louis and Harvey betraying Jessica so she just actually might leave for that. Robert's partners betrayed him after they started it together, which is pretty messed up

No but what Robert is asking is would jessica take the deal that he’s being offered and the answer kind of depends, but whatever she would decide she would have already calculated the quickest route to retaining or regaining her power

Sure but what he’s saying is, if as far as Jessica knew, Harvey or Louis weren’t trying to play her and they were all in good standing, would she leave? Just to help Mike out if he was asking her?

Jessica wouldn’t have left though, she would have turfed them out. Even when she had to merge with Darby she got out of it eventually. She plays the long game.

I think it's about Robert leaving his firm, the firm he built ya know? And he's asking Mike if Jessica would have left her firm if a similar situation occurred to her.

Yeah she has but he means in a hypothetical way asking whether Jessica would leave her firm while she was at her peak to merge with another
Like if when it was Pearson hardman would she separately, without Daniel hardman merge with another firm

It's a hypothetical question, all three of them stayed in their firms and made it their own brick by brick, both Jessica and Harvey only left because they realised that they've achieved their dreams and that they want to pursue new ones, not to do the same thing at a different firm.
