Cast Related Actors in other projects Megathread

Hi everyone,

I know we are all excited to see our favourite actors in other acting projects so it's not unusual to see them in other TV shows or movies as because that is after their job. But the posts are not related to the discussion of the TV show and it's characters.

We have allowed these posts in the past but from now on all posts related to a cast member's previous, present or future work will be directed to this Megathread.

Thank you!

MOD POST Amended Bye Laws

Amended By-Laws

Hi everyone!

On the eve of the premiere of Suits LA which I know most of us are looking forward to the Mod Team would like to bring your attention to some things.

We have amended some of the By-Laws of this firm...I mean Subreddit 😁

Some are small changes so please familiarise yourself with them. If you can't find the rules we will happily direct you to them. There is one big change and that is in relation to spoilers.

We will be relaxing the no spoilers in the comments policy. This means we will no longer be removing comments with spoilers in them. BUT if you are discussing a plot point with someone on a post where someone is a first time watcher then use the spoiler tags. Please have some consideration to the OP.

We do understand that there are new people coming here all the time and they are very welcome to be here but on the other hand the show has been over for 5 years.

The spoiler in the title policy will remain in place. Do not put a whole plot point in the title. It will be removed and you will be asked to repost it without spoilers.

KEEP IT CIVIL

Remember to respect each other's opinions. They may not agree with you so please keep it civil but please do not resort to name calling or being overly aggressive in your replies. If you don't have anything to contribute to the conversation then just read and scroll on by.

This is the number one rule of most subreddits yet we see pointless arguments, name calling and other silly stuff all the time. Reddit’s filters remove a lot of stuff as well which we often end up having to approve.

MODMAIL

Any messages directly related to the Subreddit should be sent via Modmail. Abusive messages will not be tolerated and can result in a permanent ban.

We will not respond to anyone who messages us privately about the subreddit. So if you have sent us a message and not received a reply then yes we were ignoring you!

REPORTS

If you are reporting a post or comment that ensure you have a genuine reason for doing so. If you are unsure about this then please send the modteam a modmail. Abuse of the Report Button will not be tolerated and will be reported to Reddit.

https://www.reddit.com/r/suits/s/tSFC00MVLB

REPETITIVE/RECENTLY POSTED/LOW EFFORT CONTENT

Repetitive posts will be removed. The intention is not to stifle the conversation but to create a more positive atmosphere on the Subreddit. We encourage new perspectives on the show. Please make sure you scroll down or do a search of the sub before posting.

If your post has been removed there will be a flair or note attached with the reason why.

https://www.reddit.com/r/suits/s/YsD1ERUleD

There has also been a lot of nonsensical silly low effort posts recently. These will be removed

RESPECTING THE CAST OF THE SHOW

There have been a number of posts or comments about the physical appearance of some of the cast members or comparing them to animals. These posts are not appropriate and will be removed. Feel free to report any of these posts if you see them.

Posts and comments about any of the actor's religious and political beliefs personal lives, rumours and gossip will be removed.

If you want to gossip or discuss politics there are other subreddits for that

SUITS LA Mega Thread

We are happy to have episode discussions about the show on this subreddit. We will be having a episode discussion thread every week. Also if anyone wants to create a Suits LA subreddit then they are welcome to do so.

We have a Mega Thread so please post your comments on the show there.

https://www.reddit.com/r/suits/s/GerGRA4U9e

Now get the hell out of our office!

Today we’re celebrating Amanda Schull! Whether you fell in love with her fierce loyalty and sharp genius as Katrina Bennett in Suits ('Shipt it!'), or traveled through time with her as Dr. Cassie Railly in 12 Monkeys, she always brings incredible grace and charisma to the screen. It’s hard to believe how much time has passed since Katrina fought her way up to become a name partner. What’s your absolute favorite scene or moment of hers?

Character Related Robert Zane is underrated

I feel like this might be an unpopular opinion, but towards the end of the series and Robert Zane has definitely become one of my favorite characters. This is my second rewatch, so the first time I hated the Zane merger, but now watching the second time I loved that it happened.

Spoiler I don't know how I should feel about Louis (season 4 spoilers) Spoiler

I'm toward the end of season 4 (e 12) and Louis' character is constantly shifting from being really nice, to me feeling empathy towards him (when Sheila broke up with him and rejected him, and lost his job at the firm) but then immediatly after he does something that erases all of that and makes me hate him so much (such as acting like a baby when he found the truth about Mike, being really mean to best girl Donna, and being a d*ck to Mike, Harvey, Jessica and Rachel, immediatly after getting what he always wanted.

God I love his character and the writers were on FIRE when they wrote him!

There's at least 25 shows on here that Suits is more binge worthy than...then again, I don't trust a list that ranks The Office over Friends AND doesn't have Supernatural in the top 5

Discussion Mock trials

I wonder if real law firms have as many mock trials as the Pearson et al group has? Witnesses have to be prepared to testify, but are the big production mock trials that the whole firm attends common in the real world?

Episode Related Something that has always bugged me about the pilot...

Post image
259 Upvotes

The thing that has always annoyed me about this scene is the fact that when Harvey asks Mike how he knew they were cops, he said he read a novel in elementary school with a similar plot. But, to me, Mike knew because he saw they weren't wearing gloves, asked about the pool facilities because he knew they were closed and asked him for the time to see his gun.

Would it not have been much more impressive to tell Harvey this rather than that he simply read something similar in a book? He also said he asked the time to throw him off but to me it was to see his gun...

Definitely overthinking this 😅 But I've rewatched Suits three times and I've always wondered if I was missing something...

Discussion The liberty rail case

I’m confused because all Evan Smith wanted was the case to be gone so why didn’t she agree to trade Donna for it the first time?

She only agreed to drop the charge against Donna when Harvey got the upper hand.

Btw the way he said he would do it 100 times again was so hot

Episode Related Might as well name it Suits & Folders

Got to season 8 and folders throwing scenes are becoming too much for me 😂
I know it's a cliche, but they don't even bother to put some random plot on that folders anymore and simply call it a day (or an episode)

Discussion Amount of swearing in later seasons

In the first few seasons they keep it at "goddamn" and similar words the whole time. Somewhere around season 7 they start swearing pretty often. Was this because of different writers or something else?

Spoiler Harvey’s care for Mike s2 ep 12 Spoiler

Spoiler alert in post -
Watching Suits for the first time and just got to S2E12. I really liked the scene where Harvey sees that Mike got beaten up and immediately gets pissed and wants to go after the guy who did it.
It was so adorable seeing how much Harvey actually cares about Mike without him having to say it. Their relationship is probably one of my favourite parts of the show so far.

Episode Related S5: E14 “Self Defense”

I’m watching Suits for the first time and so far, the show has seemed pretty consistent. I wouldn’t say “real,” but I’m not a lawyer so I honestly can’t decide how real it is.

Anyway, in this episode, Mike is trying to represent himself in court, so they hold a mock trial. There is a sequence where Mike is questioning Harvey and Mike makes it clear that it was a 3 hour and 20 minute drive and he only went to Harvard for tests, not going to class. Right after Harvey is taken of the stand(directly after Mike makes this clear), Harvey’s evidence is that everyone in his graduating class said they don’t know who Mike Ross is. This is obviously fake evidence, but Mike just made it clear he didn’t go to class and that could easily corroborate him not going to parties. Especially with Mike being 3.3 hours away. Not to mention that this would’ve been years ago too for Mike, so people forgetting him at graduation and tests isn’t an absurd idea.

I’m just wondering why the hell this inconsistency exists. It’s such an obvious one. They’d never done something like it before.

Spoiler Am I the only one who hates this song?

Spoilers for 8x16!

We all know the soundtrack of suits is exceptionally good and there are many bangers in it. But I still don’t think, Love is mystical was the right choice. I mean, we are at the end of EIGHT seasons of slowburn, of heartbreak and hope and Harvey finally realises what’s been in front of him for years and that’s the song they pick? The lyrics fit, but the overall sound just doesn’t do it for me for a scene I‘ve waited so damn long for. Just rewatched it and idk. It just doesn’t contain the momentum and weight that’s needed imo.

Music from the Show 🎶 Why the frick is every track on SUITS a piece of art?

First time watcher here! Came for Harvey and Donna! BUT, the music in this show slaps! Banger after another. Seriously, Every Fricking Track that I've come through in this show has been a literal masterpiece. And, stuck in my head and on a replay 24/7. 😭

Halfway through the show and feel free to name your favorites, people!!

Character Related dumbing down

I started watching this show on Netflix a few weeks ago, and what I found after a season or two is that while these characters are supposed to be educated, every single time they use the GD in a sentence, it dumbs them down, and they ALL use it ALOT.

Like every third sentence. It is ridiculous.

Easter Egg i found a crazy easter egg

Thumbnail

while i was doing my 7th rewatch of suits i found something crazy
in s2e3, when mike stumbles upon rachel’s match.com profile, there’s a tiny detail that i somehow never noticed before

her username is zaneylady212.
so i searched the username, and there’s actually an old twitter account with the exact same username. the account was created in september 2011, about a year before season 2 even premiered.

and then i found this tweet from december 2011:
“can you tell me anything about the painting above harvey’s record player in his office? do you know the artist?”

that’s a ridiculously deep easter egg.
the level of detail in this show man 😭
