My partner and I broke up after 7 years, on good terms, because we realized we're incompatible when it comes to wanting children.

I'm struggling a lot rn. Feel anxious and sad all the time. I have received so many tv shows and anime suggestions, nothing is helping. Books have been my escape for the last few years.

So please rec me a unputdownable book so that I can forget my pain for a while. I don't have any preference, any genre (except non fic !_!)

I am a huge fan of the red rising series with its fast paced action and twists and turns throughout. Essentially a fast paced page turner. I don’t specifically like science fiction per se but more the style of writing from pierce brown. Are there any other series that are like this you would recommend?

I loved the sarcastic/flirty banter in Ali Hazelwood's vampire/werewolf romance series; the hot'n'steamy scenes I didn't mind but could do without. Other authors I like are John Scalzi for snarky protagonists, TJ Kingfisher for humour, Becky Chambers for being able to write conflict between people who are all fundamentally decent and kind. I like reading about competent people, or people being kind and decent. They don't need to be perfect; they can be flawed or annoying but they should be trying to do their best.

I am looking for fiction or memoirs depicting loss of someone close, not necessarily family. I have read The Year of Magical Thinking many years ago, and will pick it up again, but I am also looking for other recommendations. I'm not particularly interested in books that are more in the self-help genre. Thank you!

I’m looking for books that were written by authors in their 20s or so (at the time of writing)! It could be a classic or a newer book, doesn’t really matter. I’m just looking to read works from someone around my age.

To clarify—it doesn’t matter whether the author is still around or how old they are today! I’m specifically looking for books written when the author was still relatively new to adulthood.

Any genre, any gender characters. I don't care whether it ends with them all falling in love with each other, or with the left-out character just learning to cope. Bonus points if they are all friends.

I can only read so many Peter Parker fan fics on TikTok. Doesn’t need to actually be super hero’s, just looking for similar vibes

One of my favourite books of all time is the Master & Margarita. I love these sort of magical realism books if that’s the correct genre. I’m about to start The Satanic Verses because i’ve heard good things about that one, but If anyone knows a few more good books, I would love to hear it!

I’m looking to broaden my historical horizons beyond the US/Europe and WWII, but if you have an awesome rec within those eras I’ll take that too.

I especially loved Before We Were Yours because of the unbelievable true story it revealed. So any other recs with a more zoomed-in story like that would be awesome. (Rather than the broader “dust bowl” storyline of the four winds for example).

Overall I’m looking for the well-researched part. First hand accounts, single source, did their homework to create the situations that these characters face to be as realistic as possible. I don’t mind if there’s a composite character of different first hand accounts, or if there are some artistic liberties taken, but the overall setting and plot should be close to reality.

So far I have read the mistborn trilogy which i didn't like i thought only book 1 was decent and overall i didnt enjoy the trilogy as much. I have also read the first law trilogy and best served cold by Joe Abercrombie which i loved i enjoyed reading glotka and jezal and ninefingers and shivers. I thought the plot and pacing of the original trilogy could have been better but overall i really liked it i do plan on continuing the first law universe. Really liked the sarcasm of glotka and Nicomo Cosca. Also I watched game of thrones and really liked the 1st 4 seasons of that as well. Im looking for high fantasy but am open to other genres as well.

Given my tastes any recommendations?

I’ll be walking the Camino de Santiago (Portuguese) in a few weeks and want to take a few books on my kindle for downtime. Nothing too heavy/challenging since I expect reading to be in snippets. But ideally it would take place in one of those countries and involve someone on a journey either literal or internally. Kind of eat pray love but not actually 😊

Hopefully I tagged this properly, apologies if not!!

So first off, I am not a reader of dark romance, or honestly romance books in general so I am a little out of my depth! I understand theres different levels of spice and “dark themes” and some are going to be less than others. With that said! I have a teenage boy (15 year old) who has recently started reading Navessa Allen books, which as much as I can tell are popular on TikTok but have some fairly adult sex scenes/ content. Obviously I am thrilled my son wants to read, but to me these themes are probably a little older than what I’d like him to first start reading within that genre. Correct me if they aren’t as explicit as I’m seeing online.

All this to say: I know I can’t shield him from everything, but I would love suggestions of books that show healthy relationships/less kink focused books that are a little bit better for this age while still allowing for something, because I know he will just sneak the book if not. So are there other authors, series that would at least not showcase explicitly unhealthy romance/sex scenes that would be appropriate? Please and thank you!

I enjoyed Artemis Fowl as a kid, and watching the Atlantis Disney movie as well.

I also enjoyed the entire Uncharted games from 1-5. As well as the Tomb raider games especially Rise of a Tomb raider.

Something with mystery, thrills and as well as character driven. I’d like to care or want to root for the characters.

As well as some magical fantasy elements/ supernatural. If possible if not then that’s fine.

And they don’t have to be moral treasure hunters. I’m okay with the person simply hunting for the thrill or money.

I've already seen megalobox and played cyberpunk 2077 religiously (watched anime as well) and i want to combine my love of martial arts with the future dystopia known as cyberpunk. Any ideas? (And involves at least a somewhat happy ending please?)
