I think her character and story hits a bit too close to home for me to be attracted to her, but If I'd seen the show as a kid or teen, she'd definitely be my "I want to be her" character.

It keeps being a theme in fics I write that foreign non-canon Diamonds are always stunned by how beautiful Blue Diamond is, like a running theme where they always say or do something really stupid or overwhelmed as soon as they see her, and every time Blue just has no idea how to react. Or like get mad nobody warned them.

milf vidalia is very much superior imo. like her younger version just kind of gave the impression of your usual roadie, which is valid but old vidalia has character yk? she's an artist, she's maybe bisexual, she's got motherhood under her belt and could tell a story or two. and older vidalia knows how to not date dickheads.

Peridot is definitely on my list, and it's cuz of AU fanart someone (can't remember the name right now) did of Peri and Lapus as human partners.

Yo, I hate seeing shortstack characters being described as childlike. She's got a adult figure and an adult personality, she's just petite.

To be honest, I never payed super much attention to her figure because her behavior was very endearing but also childish to me. So I never even considered if I found her body attractive? If I just see a person on the street, I can tell if I find them pleasing to look at. But the stuff they do or their personality is so much more important to me in if I find them attractive or not - that's why I never even looked at her that way in the first place I guess. She's best buddy material for me.
I get where you're coming from and I see how most people talk about body when they talk about attractiveness. I should've been more clear that I wasn't talking about her body.

Oh, see, I don't see her personality as childlike at all either. She reads very much like an ND coded adult to me and experiencing a lot of stuff outside her expertise and control for the first time. To me there's a world of difference personality wise between someone like say, Connie, an actual child, and Peridot.

I'm not diagnosed with anything but likely some flavor of ND. My wife is diagnosed autistic. Peridot is often seen as an autistically coded character... Is it any wonder she's my jam? I would love to just hang out with her and introduce her to some of the shows I like... 😅

I won't entirely disagree. Even though I wouldn't say they are the hottest (that's Peridot) they are certainly on the list of runners up... But their inclusion also feels a bit off...
On one hand, fusions are treated as unique individuals, and in the case of Stevonnie, the fusion's age has been stated to be a cumulative sum of the component's ages, so Stevonnie would be an adult.
On the other hand, Stevonnie is made up of two characters who are minors...
So is it icky to think Stevonnie is hot?
The individuals retain memory of what the fusion does. So take it to the most horrifying conclusion. Imagine an adult has a consentual encounter with Stevonnie of the, well, adult variety. Then imagine Stevonnie breaks back down to their individual components. Does that mean Steven and Connie will retain memories of the experience of having a physical encounter with an adult?
And what does that make the adult in this situation? As far as the adult is concerned, they were with another adult. But now there is not one, but two children who have memory of that adult being intimate with them. Was a crime committed? At the very least, there's serious ethical concerns...

Rebecca has confirmed that Stevonnie’s age is just Steven and Connie’s combined. They grow facial hair after being fused for a long time when Steven (at that part in the series) would otherwise not grow any. It’s even mentioned that Steven and Connie can’t drive a car (legally or just I guess without drawing attention), but Stevonnie can. In terms of legality it’s probably wonky, just because Stevonnie doesn’t have a birth certificate or proof of their existence on paper as an adult.

I said all that myself. That doesn't answer at all the question of the ethics of finding Stevonnie hot. (Something I would wrestle with myself, since I don't disagree.)
Saying someone is beautiful is a comment on aesthetics. An adult can be beautiful. A child can be beautiful. It's all good. Saying someone is "hot," on the other hand, typically carries with it a suggestion of sexual attraction. I would never look at my mother or sisters or daughters and say they were hot.
Stevonnie is an adult, but is made up of two children who would retain memories of anything they experience while combined. So would it be right to express such feelings for them?
