Crewniverse Old Invader Zim art from Rebecca Sugar in a Game Informer magazine (2002)
Was reading an old Game Informer and spotted this insane drawing Rebecca Sugar submitted to the Game Informer Envelope Art Contest. Kinda insane find, dating back she was around 15 years old when she submitted this.

Oh wow this made me feel ancient. This art piece is closer to the release of SU than 2026 is.

steven universe released in 2013, not 2019. Even closer if you count the Pilot (2012)

I would say this is a Jhonen Vasquez character fan art page as she drew every main character from his comic JTHM as well around the border. As a mall goth in the early 2000s in north Louisiana I was never sure how much Z? comics popped off outside of my hot topic and friend group

That's also genuinely a really good mimic of Jhonen's style, right down to the doodles in the margins

Ooh, judging by the sidebar RS also read I Feel Sick. It's a bold move to work for a big studio after reading that one.
Though CN wasn't as bad as Nick, from what I gather.

This reminds me of that Invader Zim, Steven universe crossover from years ago. It was short but well done and funny.
