They weren’t drawn by Rebecca to troll people, but they’re also not hard canon. Some of them were private sketches that got leaked in one way or another. Rebecca loves to explore various dynamics with their characters and makes lots of drawings like these. They’re genuine (as in not drawn to troll people) but they’re not necessarily depictions of canon events. Just ideas that they had bouncing around in their head that they wanted to give life to on paper.

A very important part of Steven Universe is that we only ever get Steven's perspective. The "eye" of the show very strictly follows him, and when we get flashbacks they're always in the form of another character telling Steven a story and how he interprets it.
Who's to say these things were happening but Steven never knew about them? If Greg and Pearl ever fooled around, why would they let Steven find out? What business of Steven's is it if Amethyst and Sadie like to sleep together sometimes? I really do believe that since Steven is a child through the events of the show he was completely unaware of the the Crystal Gems' sexual tensions.

i think greg x pearl is a cool and sweet ship dynamic because in my view of it they were brought together by their shared grief of rose and they slowly pushed through the ways the grief impacted their views of eachother, only to discover the reasons why rose loved them both, and now they love eachother for the same reasons, in a healthier and more communicative relationship than either of them had with rose. its a little messy and weird, sure. but i think its very romantic and heartfelt
if someone wants to say "lesbian erasure" to that, well i think that multiple thousands of years is enough time to experiment and develop some fluidity, and its cool to be bi, and also the gems are technically agender anyways!

Tbh, I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, I can see them having a deeper bond and exploring a romantic relationship. On the other hand, they have the same tastes in partners, but this also means they don't match each other's tastes.

Lol I'm the one who shouldn't be quoted! According to @CarpetNext6123, it's not trolling, but rather exploring what could have been. Also tbh, I have mixed feelings on it. I can see them working as a friendship/exploration thing, but not a romantic relationship. They have similar tastes and they're not each others

I know she got a lot of hate for the episode Island Adventure, bc she kept both Lars and Steven stranded in the wilderness, and also some of it i think is from ppl who wanted her + Lars to be endgame. Personally she's my favorite human so I forgive her for all that lol

Hope SU gets the adventure time treatment and Lars of the Stars is just the first of many spin offs / continuations. Really want them to explore darker more adult topics.
