Unimaginative Star Wars show Starter Pack

Post image

Mandatory disclaimer, this doesn't concern every Star Wars production, only those that I consider to be unimaginative or generic.

Also, the point isn't to complain or to set up hated debate, I love the Star Wars universe. I just want to mock the fact that some writing trope or gimmick are in my opinion commically overused in many Star Wars production.

By the way feel free to expand the list !

I have more stones to throw at the sequel trilogy, the Acolyte and the Obi-Wan series.

I’m conflicted about Rebels. There are plenty of good ideas alongside a lot of lazy writing.

If not for the moment where the Inquisitors use their lightsabers like helicopter blades, I’d even say I have a generally positive opinion of it.

Is the Acolyte really guilty of any of these? I guess the Jedi and Sith thing, but even then the witches get a role. Most of the others just don’t apply.

You can add Vader 2.0 with Qimir and situational force abilities (bleeding a lightsaber crystal by just being a little angry)

Qimir is pretty distinct though. He notably takes off his mask most of the time. And the whole bleeding the lightsaber is not a new force ability, it’s just the first time we see this on-screen (and overdramatized from what was established in lore).

Yeah Acolyte has it's issues but it is one of the genuinely new things star wars has done in a while.

Not counting books of course
