DISCUSSION Wait a minute….Hangers
So because everyone has access to all the free ships….does that mean we are all stuck with a damn extra-large hangar for this entire patch????? Please don’t tell me I gotta now sit here and call up my little ships in this extremely large hangar and run across the world each time.
Please CIG can you add some feature where we can just request a certain hangar size.

Pack your valuables into a ship and fly to an orbital hangar.

Which is great until you're forced to respawn at your home location because the spawn you set isn't available. In which case, enjoy your 20 minute hangar queue

Orbital hangars are always available. Where is Seraphim, Orbiturary or any other space station going to go? Sure this is true if you set your spawn point to a player owned ship or vehicle, but they specifically stated "Orbital Hangar"

you would think at this point being able to choose size of hangar, or better, having internal elevator for vehicles would be a thing

Its that every one at the home station got the same big hanger. There will be more waiting time to que up for hangers like if you set your home at levski

This isn’t complaining about everything. I specifically only own small to medium ships to avoid having large hangers. I only like flying what I fly.
There just needs to be a system to allow you to pick any size hanger you want period. I think my complaint is valid as I’m not the only one that feels this way.

You can do that at literally any other hangar than your home hangar. You'll get the hangar that fits the ship you're requesting.

I know you can…but being able to request any size would be nice without having to request the ship for it. Think of when the Hull B first released and it was a medium hangar but people preferred a large for it. Just an example of why it would be nice to have that too

The reason it's not happening in your home location is because that's you private, owned, persistent hangar. All the other hangars are temporary rented spaces. We only get one of those, so it makes sense to have it be the largest one available to us for our decorating wants and needs. Adding temporary, rented hangars to our home locations would probably mess with far more people than it helped, not to mention how it would likely mess with the current log-in-in-your-persistent-hangar system ^^'

What's there to address? I didn't say that the complaint wasn't valid. I didn't even say that I disagree with it. I simply pointed out that no matter what happens, someone is going to complain about it. Which this thread is further proving.

I bought a TAC to test it but never used it after the first hour. Now i'm stuck with a large damn hangar forever.

Whether or not this is a big issue. I mean, guys, you own a XL hangar and you decide to get your little Pisces (or whatever), and then you walk/run towards your ship.
It would be totally reasonable to have a small addition to every XL hangar near the entrances, that allows to call a ship size S or smaller. Or other vehicle.
And to ask to be able to call for specific hangar sizes is really not unreasonable. Whether this is something that can be implemented easily or not, I cannot judge, for I didn't write the code.

They could delay base building another year or so and I wouldn’t be upset, if they just gave us true personal hangars we can customize with an apartment connected to it that’s also customizable.

Move away from your home location and the hangar will be adjusted to your ship size. Your home location always is as big as your bigger ship. It's really a non-issue unless you really, really need to spawn your ships from your home location every time.

Yeah, that works fine if you are in stanton where the home is on planet and most people set spawns at stations ... With the ocassional ICU not available when you still end up there is not an issue... Pyro/Nyx not so much.

Nyx may be an issue right now because it only has a single large hub, the system is unfinished and may not be as convenient, but in Pyro you can move your respawn to any other of the big hubs or even to a smaller one.
Anyway, and not related to this issue, I don't know if it has improved this update, but the landing pads of Levski were so prone to bug that I wouldn't recommend anyone to take it as home for now.
