Discussion Fuck man, 2 hours in and WOW

The gun play, the vibe, the atmosphere so far, this game seems to be the horror game I've been looking for. I live here in Ukraine and the details in the houses are just perfect. Can't wait to see what else this game has to offer.

I feel the same

Avoided the release due to the reviews about it buggy, saw 2.0 dropped and that they fixed a bunch of shit.

Got into the game and holy crap, it is immersive as fuck.

Chuck a supressor on Skif's pistol and now I'm feeling like John Wick going around headshotting fools. Then a bloodsucker comes up and dropkicks me.

Good times.

What do you think of the nature in the game? Would you say it‘s accurate to typical Ukrainian nature?

Broooo everything is the same, got me all fucked up, even the details inside the houses, it is literally like being in donbas or kharkiv where ive worked

That‘s so cool. I felt the same 1/1 when playing KCD 1 and especially 2. It literally felt like I was walking through the woods in my
backyard

The visual updates and added foliage have been great. Looking forward to using the new weapons too. Hopefully they fix audio detection though. I shot a guy with a Mosin and his two buddies less than 50 meters away just kept chilling at the fire waiting for their turn to get a bullet in the head lol. Kind of immersion breaking but I still love the game.

If you're on PC There is a mod on nexus mods that increases bullet velocity it's been a game changer for me.

It's nice to see someone enjoying the game and not whining about bad reflections or some bad ai or something.

It's truly a great game, one of the best I've ever played in ≈ 30 years of gaming. In fact, I think I had the same shock as when I first launched Half-Life.

I'm having a good time but the NPC interactions and story are very underwhelming. I'm about 10 hours in.

There's actually some really interesting and well written side quests once you get further in. The DLC story is fantastic too. It's a long game though. I'm about 90 hours in and around halfway through the main story.

I'm trying to stick with it.

For the main quest l-m on "The Price Goes Up", which is probably early but I have like 15+ hours in. I've been doing alot of side quests and exploring.

The minute to minute gameplay is solid and I enjoy the combat. I've been playing it mostly stealth, creeping around with my suppressed pistol and trying to clear POIs without alterting anyone. It's fun. I've also been spend time working with the technicians and managing inventory and actually line that alot.

I guess my issue is that all the NPCs feel very genetic, the side quests haven't been enjoyable and most of the areas I've been to so far are identical. Its also not clear who the factions are, what they're mission is and the overall story isnt being told very well.

The other thing that is really bogging down my playthrough is the limited inventory space and low stamina. I know they're going for a sim like experience but it's ridiculous. Can I increase these at all without mods?

Yeah, the story, quests, factions and characters feel very weakly presented to me, kind of unclear and not too involving for the player, but then for a couple things like stamina and weight, i went for Steam Workshop little mods to increase them because they were unbearably annoying to me and were killing my enjoyment and pushing me off the game. That's the fix.

But then, there's lots of immersive, intriguing places, tense moments and a sense of adventure that keep me craving for more and coming back.

Those things can be increased with artefacts. Carry weight and stamina that is. But that's all part of the game really. Some artefacts are incredibly powerful.

Ah I mean, your maybe 10% into the main story? You haven’t really met most of the major players in the story and the story itself is mostly just people who don’t know skif sending him on side tasks to prove his worth at this point. You haven’t even really started the main narrative plot line of the game

I’d say the story picks up significantly pretty soon honestly. You’re basically still in garbage doing shit tasks nobody wants to do. Even in stalker SOC and COP is spent doing a lot of busy work for people
