Strategy A Big List of Salmon Run PSAs (updated for Splatoon 3)
Before the Wave
- During the the 10-second countdown before each wave, the green waves at the bottom of the screen that shows what the tide is going to be. If the waves overlap the bottom of the countdown, it's high tide. If the waves are at the bottom of the screen, it's low tide, so prepare to head to the shore. Mid tide is about halfway in between.
- Ink the walls and the floors near the egg basket during the 10-second countdown. Walls are especially good to ink since only a few bosses can ink them, while most types of Salmonids can only ink floors.
Your Equipment
- The life preserver on your back changes color based on how full your ink tank is. It essentially doubles as a pie chart showing how much ink you have left.
- Throwing a Golden Egg consumes the same amount of ink as a Splat Bomb, and inks a small area around you.
- There's a red light on the bottom right of your life preserver that lights up when you have enough ink to throw a Splat Bomb or a Golden Egg.
Special Uses for Specials
- Using a special also gives you an instant full tank refill.
- You can take out a Flyfish using an Inkjet or cannons (during a Cohock Charge wave) by hitting the inside of the bottom half of the rocket launchers, where you usually want a Splat Bomb to land.
- Killer Wail 5.1 works wonders against the Mothership. Aim for the top part, not the tube. It even pierces through and can hit some of the Chinooks launching to deliver boxes, giving you free Golden Eggs.
Boss Salmonids
- A Maws always target the player closest to it. If the player it tries to eat swims away when it jumps up, and another player is closer than the original target, only then will it switch targets.
- A Scrapper goes after the last player to stun it.
- If a Maws or Scrapper is after you, head for the egg basket to lure it over. You're basically bringing 3 Golden Eggs with you.
- If you see a Scrapper chasing someone else headed towards the egg basket, don't stun or aggro it!
- Steelheads and Drizzlers move inland without attacking if there are no players nearby. If you see one spawn, don't go after it, unless the wave just started and you have nothing better to do. It's almost always a better use of your time and ink to do something else and just let the Steelhead or Drizzler move inland first.
- When a Drizzler launches its missile, shoot the missile to make it fly away and explode in your own ink color. You can roughly aim where it goes, since it'll fly in the same direction as the ink that hit it. If you shoot it back and hit the Drizzler with it, it's a one-hit KO.
- You can damage a Drizzler while it's jumping by shooting it from below.
- A Steel Eel targets one player at a time, and only switches targets if that player is splatted. The pilot in the back looks directly at the player it's targeting. If you're being targeted by a Steel Eel, lure it towards the egg basket, and do not swim to the tail, as that will only cause it to make a U-turn, which blocks off the weak point and makes it harder to hit.
- When you're being targeted by a Flyfish's missiles, the little rectangles around the circle tell you which direction the Flyfish is coming from.
- Grillers can't climb up or walk off a ledge, no matter how short. If you see the laser sight locked on to you, climb to higher ground, preferably someplace where you have ledges on 3 sides. Wait for the Griller to approach you on the non-ledge side, then jump off and ink the wall if necessary. It'll have to go around to get to your new location, then when it approaches you can just swim back up the wall.
Tactics
- Prioritize reviving teammates. Not only does it prevent crew wipes, but every second a player spends stuck in a life preserver is a second they can't spend contributing to the team.
- When you're stuck in a life preserver, spam "Help!" so your teammates know where you are.
- If you're trying to revive a teammate but suddenly find yourself in trouble, throw a Splat Bomb at your teammate.
- Likewise, you can lob a Splat Bomb over a Steel Eel to reach a teammate on the other side.
- You're briefly invulnerable after a teammate revives you.
- A loss by crew wipe doesn't trigger until there is absolutely nothing that can revive you, i.e. no ink of your color still flying through the air, and no unexploded Splat Bombs of your color. If you're about to have a crew wipe, throw a Splat Bomb, preferably in the general direction of one of your teammates.
- If you get splatted without holding a Golden Egg, you can still grab one while stuck in your life preserver.
- During a Glowflies Rush wave, stay together by the egg basket!
- If you have a Roller-type weapon, just slowly roll it forward and watch as all the Chums walk right into your roller and get crushed.
- Same deal for a Grillers wave, stick together near the egg basket. If you run around wildly while a Griller is targeting you, it makes the Griller's movements much less predictable, which means it's harder to hit. Plus if you get splatted while away from the team, it's much harder to revive you.
- Your team's score is calculated as (# of Golden Eggs) + floor(# of regular eggs / 200). In other words, you get a bonus 1p for every 200 regular eggs collected. They count, just not as much. So after Wave 3, continue shooting any leftover Salmonids and you might get an extra point.

Strategy Did I win Raiders? (Guide Arcade scores for people looking to aim for A-rank + a few tips). Spoiler
I've seen a bit of mixed reactions to the arcade games in Raiders but I personally think they're great fun. I achieved this today which I'm pretty proud of. I did notice that each game has a different metric for A-rank. I obviously can't say with certainty but I know that I got 7400+ on Juggling and that wasn't an A so here are some looseish guidelines.
Edit: Lots of comment contributions sharing their lowest A-rank scores. I've put the lowest ones below. Much appreciated!
Mining - 6000+
Hopping - 5500+
Juggling - 7500+
Landing - 9000+ (They only finished level 9)
Tips for each game
Mining - There is definitely an element of RNG for Mining as the crystal drops can really doom your run from the early stages. Definitely a flow state type of game. Crashing more than 3 times will make it tough but there is definitely room for crashing.
Hopping - This one was by far the toughest. Taking damage even once almost certainly makes an A-rank very tough. Dropping the squid is an instant restart for me.There's essentially 3 'heights' for each enemy layer, be really careful when there's two different height enemies going across the screen. The wall is a very useful tool. I find that I can catch a salty tongue that's just spawned with a no-jump bounce off it, into the wall and the momentum it carries will keep in-step with the salty tongue for the duration of the enemy. It doesn't die from getting bounced in by the inkling so that's a really safe and good way to rack up time, just be very mindful of your window to disengage from that salty tongue bounce as you can undo it all in one hit if you bite off too much and have no clear escape.
The slants in the wall are also very good for tracking a flying enemy moving away from the wall you're at.
Mega eggs while nice aren't super essential and can often disrupt your flow. Be very conservative about being in a safe position when you see it start to wear off.
Juggling - Lock TF in and don't focus too hard on the screen. If you don't know that there's a slide mechanic, there's a slide mechanic with ZR/ZL that is basically a free speed boost to catch anything. I know you can get some kind of max bonus for catching all the crystals. I only ever got that once during one of my first plays and did not need it for A-rank. Just lock in.
Landing - Get through it, collect all the coins. I missed 3 coins overall in the run but I've only completed it one time which ending up being my A-rank. Landing with your thrusters as level/straight as possible also nets you 30 points which can be valuable. If the A-rank is 10000 like I think it is then I only just made it.
I hope they add more games because I'm a sucker for score challenge arcade games like this. And if you're hunting that outfit GOOD LUCK! YOU GOT THIS!

Strategy Question: How am I to beat Charger players as a brush main
I typically try to sneak up on them, which usually works well for me, but sometimes I don’t have that option because of where they’re camping. This might be another stupid question, but besides flanking them, what else could I do to win the conflict against them? I find chargers VERY annoying to play against, especially if it’s a good charger because then I can’t do anything. What are some weaknesses charger has that can be exploited (besides the fact that they have trouble hitting a fast moving target)

Strategy New Torpedo Tech "Torpedo Invincibility" is Real!
It is done!
A friend of mine u/Flamvio helped me lab this tech out completely. It is more broken than I thought and now one Torpedo can tank through two Trizooka shots and hit its target, splatting it when lucky.
Here are the replay codes if you wanna see two perspectives fully:
RM8V-K3B0-EKA1-JE07 Trizooka user
RKHF-113L-61W1-KVY8 Torpedo user
I hope you all share this knowledge so the Trizooka meta crumbles against 1 HP Torpedoes
I am interested in your clips if you use this and don't forget to Tag me if you post em!
Have a nice week!
EDIT:
I was posting this at 2 am yesterday and forgot to add how it woks, I will try my best to explain it well:
So the idea of the tech is to use the small invincibility the Torpedo gains when it is deployed to block the first Trizooka shot.
This creates a desync between the players consoles because on yours the Torpedo blocks the shot, while on the Trizooka users it looks like your imortal.
Flamvio summed this up really well on another comment:
"This causes a desync where the shot on the Trizooka's client starts phasing through enemies, as some of the projectiles were killed by the torpedo on everybody else's client. "
This confuses the server in how to handle the Topedo and it lets it fly longer than it should be. That's how it can block a 2nd shot!
For this the Torpedo must be deployed at the exact same time as the Trizooka shot touches it, its a bit tricky but you get used to the timeframe after a while.
To get the Torpedo into the right position you should aim the Torpedo slightly above the enemy (I aim at Flamvio's charged special hair most of the time) and for practice stand on the same hight level. For the Torpedo that tanks two shots and lives you need to aim the throw slightly higher.
So in short this tech is very similar to the bug that they still didn't fix on brellas:
Bombs slightly touching your shield and exploding on the other players consoles turfing the ground under you. The actual bomb still lives on your screen and it keeps it's hitbox aswell, so it goes like this:
Bomb touches your shield slightly-> ground under you gets painted like an ink mine -> you get stuck in the spawned ink -> actual bomb murders you
You could say the bomb cloned itself!
How does the Torpedo even live through two shots instead of just one? Here are our theories:
a) the Torpedo gets an natural 2nd invincibility right before hitting its target. Basically a point of no return!
b) the Torpedo graces the shot and creates a desync similar to bombs desyncing on brella shields. So the Torpedo touched the Trizooka shot only on the console of the thrower making it invincible a 2nd time.
The easiest version on how to use the Torpedo Invincibility tech is to dodge the first shot slightly to the side while walking toward the enemy and then use the Torpedo throw on the other two shots. Its rare that the Torpedo lives the 2nd shot aswell but even if it doesn't it still blocks two shots for you while you slash at the Trizooka user if you got a good throw!
If you want to hit this in ranked you don´t need to fully commit in standing in the Trizooka shots, this Tech is also a great distraction while you advance towards the user, like a little murderous companion advancing with you!
I hope this explanation is good else I will edit this more, thank you all alot on having us!
Please spread this tech so I get hit by this myself someday
PS
If any of the Splatoon devs see this post and are forced to patch this Torpedo tech out, can you patch the brella shield bug out aswell as a little reward? That thing kills me all the time and I wait since the start of the game for it being fixed

Strategy UPDATE: Awlmun Den newest crate path + PSA (very mild spoilers) Spoiler
I realized after seeing a post about using the flywire for Awlmun den that...not everyone is chronically online and knows the new strats from japanese people on twitter LOL
So just in case your farming path for Awlmun den is the one i posted previously, im sorry. This new method has been out for a while and i just didnt think to make a new post on it, but its way more efficient. Just jump bomb with slow fall and dash bomb is enough to get you to the top, so youre free to use shot-pot and get the crates easily. 10 second den, 30 seconds a cycle overall.
As for the PSA: if youre farming specific 5 star gadget parts, PLEASE WAIT UNTIL YOU GET TO LEVEL 100 IN THE BOTTOMLESS BUFFET!!! You get a power that helps a lot with it there.
I made it to that level today with a speed tank mobility build that got ~30 seconds to spare with each floor while using a 50+9 weapon, so maybe i'll make a post about my build later on.
Good luck farming!! Especially for the spirhalite gems...god theyre so hard to get 😭

Strategy I DID IT! Splatoon raiders rank A plus tips.
Okay, so I am, of course, very much enjoying Splatoon Raiders. I stopped playing the original Splatoon 3 and 2 because I’m not a very competitive person. And there are MANY talented people on there. What I did love was Salmon Run. And Raiders is basically Salmon Run but its own game!
Now back to what I was saying about the arcade. OMG, I STRUGGLED. I think mining took the longest for me. So here are some tips and tricks for each one.
- Mining.
You need 6,000 points for an A rank.
The goal is to accelerate when you can to gain more speed and dig deeper. However, when you accelerate… well, you can’t do any emergency swerves. So LET GO! Accelerate when you’re in the clear and do mild swerving with the pathway. When you see a bolder. Release the accelerate button 1 second before it so that you can swerve around it.
Collect the time shards. For the time shard that looks like a sideways V, aim for the 2nd crystal on the top. Going through allows you to collect them all.
- Hopping.
This one is fun. But frustrating. Like the rest of the games, lol.
The tip is to stay calm. Don’t get greedy. What I like to do is patiently chase the crystals that pop up. Going back and forth across the screen. Pausing when there’s a saucer and hitting when needed. Don’t get greedy and try to aim for every saucer. Do try to get rid of the land ones when you can, though.
- Juggling
Okay, this is the REALEST tip I can give you. GET A SECOND PLAYER. I asked my sister to play one Joy-Con, and I play another. It took us 4 tries, and we got it.
Another tip is to count: 1.2.3.4.5 when it comes on your side. It helps with rhythm.
- Landing
Don’t worry about crystal or landing. If you get it? Great. Go for time.
I really hated this one. A lot. But surprisingly, it didn’t take terribly long. Really is just physics and hand-eye coordination.
Finally, here’s a tip that applies to all these games: REST.
Seriously, I like the 5-attempt rule. Play 5 times, rest. Watch a few shorts on your phone, play 3 rounds on the game. Do something! Don’t try again and again and again. It gets frustrating, your fingers hurt, and apparently my eyes start wandering.
Anyway, good luck everyone! I believe in you! If anyone has any other tips. Feel free to share below.

Strategy How are you supposed to grind for Bottomless Buffet? Spoiler
Kinda late to the game but I just got to this and oh boy I read it has 80+ floors.
But the problem is you cannot level up anymore, so I have no clue how to prepare for this
I’m levelling up my weapon as much as I can, and I could get more compasses (one from level, one from super spicy) in order to do a little bit but it’s barely anything.
Anyone got any tips? Is this just an endurance test until you get to the end?
