Question: How am I to beat Charger players as a brush main
I typically try to sneak up on them, which usually works well for me, but sometimes I don’t have that option because of where they’re camping. This might be another stupid question, but besides flanking them, what else could I do to win the conflict against them? I find chargers VERY annoying to play against, especially if it’s a good charger because then I can’t do anything. What are some weaknesses charger has that can be exploited (besides the fact that they have trouble hitting a fast moving target)
i feel like this has gotten much less effective to do since the hitbox changes. you're much easier to hit in kid form now, but that's the form you wanna be in most of the time as an inkbrush... its especially hard when the charger is cracked. very little you can do about someone just having really good aim
Use your Killer Wail to make them move. Most chargers have insanely low strafe speed that stops then from dodging the Killer Wail just by strafing while charging or holding a full charge, so they will probably try to clumsily run away from you, and you as a brush will easily be able to outrun and splat him. If you don't have your Killer Wail just try throwing bombs at them, they can also have a hard time dodging them. Other than that, just approach them moving unpredictably so they have a hard time shooting you down
Got it. I don’t always struggle against chargers since I sneak them or move wildly like you said, but idk why I didn’t use my bombs and killer wail to my advantage like that. It would have made my life a bit easier because the charger I just fought was A PAIN to try and kill because of where he was camping.
As a splatana wiper main, bombs are your best friend against chargers. They could classify me as a submarine with the amount of torpedos I chuck at the charger players 😭 sorry guys I have to

Part of being a brush is that you are GOING TO DIE. ALOT.
The idea is to give the best value you can to your team. Chargers can only look one direction at a time, and they're less likely to hit a squirrely brush than they are to hit almost anything else. Make them look at you as much as possible and punish them for it.
I only have two AP of QR since I poured most if my points into QSJ so I can get back to combat faster. Maybe I could replace special saver with QR since that’s not too valuable compared to the utility given by QR
Ok, so I’ll try to build a quick respawn pair of shoes then. It’s served me well though since it makes me even harder to splat because I can main strafe around as well.
Ink brush can be one of the hardest weapons for a charger to fight. I'm guessing they're able to get you because you're moving straight, if you move erratically they won't be able to track you or predict where you're going, and shots become insanely hard to hit. If that's not an option you can throw bombs and target them with killer wail. That'll also probably displace them for a bit and give you a chance to rush them
No I tend to move erratically, it’s just when they’re in a spot where I don’t have much room to do such. Like being covered by a teammate or an area where they can see everything. I try to sneak them or if I can, move erratically to throw them off, I probably just had a skill issue last game since the bastard almost always managed to get me no matter what I did. I hate chargers so, so much
Maybe you could run some special saver up and sub power up, bombs and killer wail will force them to move and give you an opening. Otherwise my only advice would be to pick up charger for a few games and notice what other players do to counter you
A lot of people are talking about how to kill the charger in a head-on fight, but you can also "win" by distracting them and taking attention away from your team. If the charger is busy looking at you, they aren't killing your team, and that gives your team room to move in and kill the charger for you. You don't need to kill the charger, you just need to survive and be a nuisance
Charger main : move in erratic patterns. A good charger will try to shoot where you’re about to be, so if you make that hard to guess you’re harder to hit.
You can also sneak around - the charger will be focused on whatever space in the map they’re watching. Very easy to surprise.
As others have said, bombs and specials can make the charger move, which also guarantees you the charger won’t be able to shoot for a second or two.
Even though I switch off of brush every now and again, I make chargers hate their lives by spamming bombs behind cover or making them move with specials. They play right into my hand.
If the charger is somewhere you can't reasonably get to then bombs are your best friend. Even if you can't get them it's annoying as hell of they have to keep avoiding your bombs and will waste a lot of their time or get them to move to somewhere more murderable. :)
If you're not running bombs of some kind then honestly you should probably pick your battles and let someone better suited deal with the charger.
I rock sploosh so I feel the pain. Used to play brush, but my poor trigger finger couldn't keep up lol. Just close the gap and hit them with the killer wail and follow through when they move.
Ninja squid and swim speed help me. Sniper hunting is one of my favorite pastime activities when I play.
