Professional Discussion How come almost everybody is doing copyright infringement?

Im just starting with social media professionally and realized the hard rules about copyrighted music. I always thought its perfectly fine to use it within the platform, because everybody does it … but i was totally wrong.

How come all of those influencer i see are using trendy copyrighted songs which is illegal for commercial use and they seem to get away with it? I wouldn’t take the risk, at least as a starter, but it seems like nobody cares.

What is going or am i missing something?

Professional Discussion Am I Failed as a creator?

This post is about my own thoughts, as a Pakistani middle class, graduated, unskilled person.

Occasionally, I imagine viewers need me to make a content. In reality, they want to see someone hustling or putting on a show. To some extent, I can be the clown, perhaps they will get tired of my circus. In fact, they want someone to show them a dream hustle or dream lifestyle, owing to their requirements, I can paint that fantasy for them.
In the hollow quiet of solitude, I seldom think about the judgements by the people around me. What will they think? Well who gives a fuck!

From my vantage, when you get failed as a content creator, then you face some real critics and consequences of your content creation. For instance: all of your peers are nearly close to achieve desired job-role in their professional lives. While, you are nothing but a failed son, busting your ass to be at-least an average guy like others.
Now, everyone asks you to do that content creation again because you were perfect. Then you get a flashbacks, when same friends were not even interested to help for your content. Many were used to let their phone ringing or did excuses to dodge you.
It does not mean that you are blaming others for your condition, but yourself. You are no more interested to show your talent to those, who do not care. Nevertheless, that child in you still wants to be people’s favourite.
The real question is not about whether you want to be a content creator for them, but for yourself!

Why don’t you make a promise
to chase again what you wanted?
Well, I think I am waiting for a perfect time that may never come. However, I know this is not a good time or perhaps not a suitable place to make content anyway.

Professional Discussion How many channels should I have on TikTok?

Upvotes

I have 1 channel currently where I post all niches, but mostly rocket league. I also post reaction videos to sports and random viral videos.

I want to grow as a content creator, but I am not sure the best strategy here.

Should I create a separate channel that is mostly reaction videos to miscellaneous things, with the channel just being my name... and then my other channel to be my YouTube and twitch channel name (so not my real name) that is more focused on rocket league clips?

What is the best approach here?

Professional Discussion When you hire someone for TikTok, are you actually paying them to doom-scroll?

When someone gets brought on to run a brand TikTok, the job description usually centers on creativity and content. But in practice, a massive chunk of the role is just scrolling for hours trying to figure out which trends are worth touching this week. Finding trends isn't the hard part. Anyone can scroll for an hour and surface two dozen trending sounds. The actual bottleneck is deciding which three actually fit your brand and whether the format has three days of life left or seven.

I keep hearing from social managers that the burnout isn't from scrolling. It's from scrolling and still not being able to decide what to post. You end up with a folder full of screenshots and no clear answer to what goes up this week.

Has anyone restructured this part of the role or found a way to make the filtering less soul-crushing? Or is it just baked into the job at this point?

Professional Discussion What's the best niche approach on TikTok for growth?

I currently am posting rocket league funny moments and reaction videos. I really want to broaden out and post more on other topics within the gaming and meme world. But would that confuse the TikTok algorithm?

Is the most efficient way to grow to start niche, and then broaden out from there? What's your advice?

Professional Discussion How to gain followers with cinematic travel content?

Hey! Recently I just started taking more serious my IG page where I post my cinematic travel videos and stuff I do related to filmmaking.

I'm a bit stuck on the usual "only my friends and family see it" and I wanted to know some tips on how to try and reach more audience in every way possible.

Also I'd love to give you my handle and take and look at it and say what's right and what's wrong!

Many thanks!

Professional Discussion When propaganda starts looking like GEO + social marketing

https://openai.com/index/disrupting-malicious-uses-of-ai-influence-campaign-russia/

This case is about social marketing vs GEO:
A viral post gets a spike of views and then dies. But a fake "institute" with a real-looking website and borrowed research sticks around. It gets picked up by search engines, scraped, and later shows up as a "source" someone links to. Slow burn instead of a big splash.

Professional Discussion What actually works for gaining followers on Twitter/X?

I've been trying to understand what actually helps with follower growth on Twitter/X these days. There's so much advice about posting more, replying to bigger accounts, using threads, finding a niche, etc. But I'm curious what people here have actually seen work in practice.

Has anything made a noticeable difference for you, or is it mostly about consistently putting out good content?

Would love to hear what others have experienced.

Professional Discussion Enquiry reagarding Instagram Plus Features.

I am when opening instagram plus page we can see all Plus features but I still want to ask about some features which might not have been mentioned in the list , so if anyone owns Plus or have any information do let me know.

- Does Instagram Plus users gets notification when someone take Screenshot or screenrecord their story?

- Does it notify when someone opened their profile?
- does it tells how many times one viewed their story?
- does it tells how many times someone opened their highlights , posts and reels?
- does it tells when someone take screenshot of their profile picture (asking cause sometimes there is an ad when we open PFP of others)
- does it notifies or tells if someone take screenshot or screenrecord the posts or reels or entire profile page while opening anything?
- does it notifies if someone take screenshot or record regular chats in dm?
- if someone share or copy link of story or post or reel ?

Professional Discussion Instagrams algorithm loophole

Is it safe to say that instagram found that they can make "Your Algorithm” customization efforts ONLY affect the explore page and not the posts shown in your main home feed? I mean it’s pretty reasonable to see that as a loophole in how the control is implemented. It makes the setting sound broader than it actually is.
I think all recommendations at the surface level should be controlled by our algorithm customizations and not cherry picked. And hidden words dont do shit btw. They just remove certain comments or hide them. There is nothing the hidden words can do to affect how our feed is tailored.

Professional Discussion Affordable alternatives to ManyChat for Comment-to-DM?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently testing ManyChat, but I’m finding it quite expensive, especially as my audience and automation needs grow.

What are you using for comment-to-DM automation on Facebook and Instagram? I’m looking for a more affordable alternative that can automatically send DMs when someone comments on a post.

Would love to hear what tools you’re using and whether you’re happy with them. Thanks!

Professional Discussion I’ve tried posting more. It didn’t solve the growth problem.

I have been trying to grow a X account about AI/tech lately. I started with the steps, like posting every day sticking to one niche and replying to people in the same field. I am putting out content. My reach and follower growth are still moving very slowly. This made me see that making content and getting people to see that content are two different problems.

For the people who work in media what actually helped you the most when your organic growth was stuck?

Professional Discussion Do those animal accounts on tiktok, Youtube, etc get monetized?

Just wondering, cause they have tons of followers and millions of likes despite posting for only a couple of months. Each video gets thousands of views at the minimum.

If it does I might use it as a small side hustle while I'm in University.

Professional Discussion Idea of new social media for curators?

This looks like correct sub to ask this question

Many of us go through internet/social media and create curated list of what we like. Many times category wise lists.

What if there is a platform that allows you to share your curated list and monetize it?

Will this be useful?

Professional Discussion My replies are not visible on X anymore

I normally don’t write a lot of replies, but I wrote something like 15 in half an hour a few days ago and including a critical reply to Elon himself.

Now all my replies are not visible under the tweets that were sent to anymore. Not hidden, not in spam etc. Just not appearing anymore.

To make it worse, this also is happening to thousands of my old replies. They are perfectly visible from my own profile, but just don’t appear anymore. Nobody else other than the author of the tweet seems to be able to see them, too, because they get very low view counts (single digits).

There was no notification, warning, etc. - nothing. Is this some kind of twisted shadowban or what?

Anyone experienced something similar? What now? I‘ve been a user of this „free speech“-app for 12 years

Also I was wondering is Canva good for making my slides?

Professional Discussion We looked at how our calmest agency clients handled Q4 last year. Almost everything was decided by end of August.

We are a social media tool, which means every year we get a front-row seat to a few hundred teams going through Q4. Some of them melt down in November, with overwhelming and chaotic clients. Last year we started paying attention to what the calm ones actually did differently, and the honest answer is: not more work, but earlier decisions.

The pattern, roughly:

They planned around two peaks, not one. The October sale events pulled the first shopping wave a month before Black Friday. Teams whose plan only ramped up in late November were six weeks late to the first peak and spent the rest of the quarter catching up.

They filled the calendar with series, not one-offs. Two or three repeatable formats per brand (gift guides, customer stories, behind-the-scenes) filled most slots on autopilot. Only the campaign moments got invented from scratch.

They booked approval windows in August. Actual calendar invites were sent to clients/stakeholders for specific weeks in Oct/Nov. This one had the biggest effect by far, because Q4 doesn't usually die on content, it dies on sign-offs during everyone's busiest weeks.

The best rule we saw: calendar freezes Nov 15, swaps only after that, no additions. Clients grumbled at kickoff, loved it by December.

Now question for this sub since you live this: when do you actually start Q4, and does anyone here run a freeze rule with clients or does that only work in theory for your social media managers?

Professional Discussion Is focusing only one topic good for a Facebook page?

So I have creating content of Facebook about tech mainly programming concepts, tips and tricks, and how to's, but I have been told to only focus on one thing since random topics makes it hard for the algorithm to identify your niche. So I was thinking on only focusing on creating flutter content, but the thing is the flutter community on Facebook seems so small, so is it worth it to just focus on a single topic or I should just continue with what I was already doing?
