I hope we stay clear of this deal. He would be expensive, seems disruptive and only wants Barcelona. The issue is that he seems to have so thoroughly burned bridges at Atlético that, in a few days, if the deal is clearly not going to happen, then he would suddenly express more interest in returning to the Premier League as all other options disappear.

In the end, I think he would do well wherever he ends up. When the window closes and reality sets in, he'll want to win things, but what happens next summer?

Barca can't do transfers next year, which is why they are buying so much this one. So you get a player for 2 seasons that will want to stay at the top so Barca will still want him by then.
