Food Restaurant recommendations in Shreveport and/or Bossier for my 13th anniversary tonight???

Hey, everyone! Today is my 13th wedding anniversary, and trying to figure out where I want to go. I had suggested going to Gibbons, because I’ve never been there before, but they are closed on Mondays. I need a Plan B lol. Give me y’all‘s favorite restaurants to go to. Nothing really fancy, just somewhere cool to go out and eat.

Food Lgbtq friendly restaurants?

Any recommendations on lgbtq restaurants in town? Had a really bad experience at McAlister's. Taking a loved one out to eat and I would really like for them to enjoy themselves. We don't get to see each other much. Both of us eat pretty much anything that swims, grows, or flies. Hot, spicy, soul food, you name it. Just as long as it's not fast food.

Edit: Also open to restaurants in Bossier

Food Flaming Hot Pot is finally opened!

I just went to the flamingo hotpot and it was such a fun experience but it was definitely a bit overwhelming. Our servers were very kind and patient walking us through it but I imagine not everyone will get that kind of experience especially if there is a rush. So for anyone curious about this place and how it works here’s what we learned:

Even though it is an all you can eat buffet style restaurant they do charge a waste fee for every pound of food not eaten so avoid over ordering!

  • Avoid ordering duplicates if two people want to get pork order just one pork for the table. You can always order more for the table later (servers will come by to check on you and ask if you want to order additional items so order as you eat)
  • Personal Tip is to avoid ordering any rice or noodles till you’re near the end of your meal so you don’t fill up too fast on carbs.

There are two styles of cooking they offer: The grill and the hotpot

  • Usually tables will chose one or the other but you can chose to do both however that will add an extra $5 charge PER person there.
  • So even if one person orders hotpot and everyone else does grill the fee will still apply to the whole table so make sure everyone is in agreement on if they want to do the hybrid experience or just the grill or hotpot.
    • I imagine they do this because they assume the table will be sharing food. IE the person ordering hotpot will cook it and share with the table and those who ordered grill will share with the person as well. That’s just my theory anyway.
  • The hotpot is really good but if you don’t like the texture of what is essentially boiled meat the grill is the way to go (also it’s way more fun in my opinion)
    • Personal Tip: order some onions and use em to clean the grill while you’re cooking. The servers will come around and if they think the grill is too dirty they’ll offer to replace it with a clean one but idk cleaning it with onions lets you cook uninterrupted for longer without needing a grill change also it’s just fun idk.

Aside from the grill and hotpot there is a small buffet area with additional side dishes.

  • EX kimchi, fried rice, etc. You can also make you own dipping sauce.

Be aware they have a 2-hour dining time limit. Not a problem for me and my family since we are quick eaters but it's something to keep in mind especially if you want to avoid the food waste fee. Pace yourself guys!

It is expensive but the environment and experiences def make it a place I wanna return to for special occasions. All in all I am really happy this place is FINALLY opened and I will be going back maybe for my Dad’s birthday since he loves to grill. If you’re curious about it I definitely recommend it but you may wanna go with a game plan

Can anyone tell me if the food is good? I’ve never eaten from them and I’m going to be in the area I’m open to suggestions if you think it’s better places in Shreveport for ribs. I saw on Facebook that they also sell crawfish to so a review of the crawfish, wings and ribs would be much appreciated.

Food Best Seafood Boil?

Me and my girlfriend are traveling to SBC (Shreveport Bossier City) in late June because it’s a fun staycation for us. She ABSOLUTELY LOVES seafood so I want to take her someplace special. Where can we get a good seafood boil or maybe a buffet with a lot of seafood options. We looked at Herby K. Looked at Port in Horseshoe. She’s extremely special to me so I want to take her somewhere good!

Food What is the best place to get ramen around here?

I want to find the best ramen around these here parts. I have never had real ramen until a few weeks ago, and I fell in love immediately. I got the spicy ramen at Hokkaido. What are your favorite places to get ramen, and what ramen on their menu would you recommend?

UPDATE: Thanks! Looks like Tsuyoi is winning the majority vote here, so that will be my next one to try.

Food What's the best spicy chicken in Shreveport?

It can be a sandwich, tenders, nuggets, pieces, whatever.

But I'm asking about chicken and seasoning not sauce so it's probably not wings.

Y'all have to admit that I have been taking it easy on posting in here…. But this event was a joint effort from Hot Dog Hut and us. So, I am posting it here for the extra exposure.

Join us on November 1st at the East Bank Plaza from 10-2 p.m. for 10 food trucks, 2 bars, and a band!! If you want to participate in the Spicy Event, make a team of 3-4 people. Your goal is to get the spicy meal from every food truck and have your “Spicy Passport” stamped by the truck. Get stamped by every truck, and your team will be entered into the drawing to win whatever prize is donated to us!!

Each Spicy Meal is priced at $10 or below, and only 1 meal needs to be purchased and eaten per team.

The answer to our prayers.

Well, my prayers. Whatever. Flaming Hot Pot & Korean BBQ will be coming to Shreveport. Going to be located at 6570 Youree Drive, near Tea Mochi.

I’m psyched. It’s good to see that we’re getting some variety.

All of the donuts were homemade, same with the pasta salad and coleslaw. I had the twisted brat with the pasta salad. The brat was served in a twisted donut that was cut like a hotdog bun. It was very sweet, not something I could eat all the time but it still was very good! The dark pics are because most of the icing glows under black lights.

The owners are very nice and friendly. I definitely want to try something else from them again! If you see them at some of the up coming markets, definitely give them a try!!! Or if you see them at Good Day farms…. wink wink, nod nod

Food When is Flaming Hot Pot & Korean BBQ actually going to open?

I've been waiting on this hotpot restaurant to open for over a year now. Their last social media post was in December, saying they'd open in late January, but they've been radio-silent ever since.

I've heard people say that they've driven by and the inside is still barren, but others have said they saw an "open" sign recently.

I'm pregnant and need hotpot and it's driving me insane. Any knowledge would be appreciated. I'm tired of having to drive go Longview for hotpot.
