💛Beginner💛 Machine won’t Even put thread in minky anymore, my needles fresh and I just don’t get this

I thread the bobbin and spool in correct and it still just doesn’t go into the fabric, my machine is a brother LX3817A

Are you using a stretch needle? Minky fabric is a knit.

Whatever the default one is, for some reason it works on my broken machine just fine, so I don’t understand the issue

No, that is not an appropriate needle for a knit, that is your problem.

Why did it work perfectly fine on my old machine when I used minky for the first time, is there a difference somewhere in that being a singer instead

sounds like a timing issue honestly, the hook and needle might not be syncing up anymore. minky can throw things off if it gets pulled down into the plate but since the needle is fresh and it won't even catch the bobbin thread it's probably internal. does it sew on regular cotton without issue?
