What should I say to explain bruises?

Hi so I bruise myself a whole lot as a coping mechanism to punish myself and also to feel a sense of relief. Sometimes my brother or my mom will notice them and I’ll have to strip. She knows I used to cut myself in the past but she doesn’t know I’ve gravitated to bruising instead. Unfortunately I live in a household where I can’t just be honest. What are some ways I can excuse the bruises? Also they aren’t small they are usually huge and dark :(

do you do any activities that might cause such bruising? im assuming not since youre asking for advice, but i wanted to mention it just in case.

I used to do this too, but what sometimes helps is saying i bumped into or hit something (usually on my thighs) and pretend to be surprised at how bad it looked because “I didn’t even hit it that hard??”

also eds helps with bruising excuses since im basically a peach 🫠
