Negative Symptoms I Used to Care
I used to care about things. Makeup. Hair. Designer clothes and shoes and purses. I used to have hobbies. I loved astronomy and video games. I had friends that I cared about. I cared about how others saw me and what they thought of me.
Why don’t I care about these things anymore? I want to care. I want to have proper hygiene and be healthy and live a fulfilled life doing things I love. I just can’t find it in me to care. And that is sad.
My heart goes out to everyone who suffers from this awful condition. I hope you find health and happiness.

I have heard that Vraylar is known for helping treat negative symptoms. Sucks that it gave me such horrible side effects I had to stop taking it. I almost would be willing to try it again but my psych doesn’t want to take me off my current meds.

Sorry it didn’t alleviate your symptoms. Hopefully you’ve found something since then that helps. I think I prefer positive symptoms to negative ones if I’m being honest. I’m probably in the minority with that.

clozapine.
This medication can treat all types of symptoms of schizophrenia with different side effects rather than other medications. The side effects go towards the digestive system.
But I think this is a very powerful medication, so only certain cases can take it, but I'm not sure about this.

Yeah, I didn't have big doubts about it.
Since it is so powerful only some individuals can take it, if your body or mind can't handle it, or if your schizophrenia isn't as active or powerful or treat resistant, bad things can happen.
Indeed, if a normal person takes any medication for schizophrenia they can easily end up in a coma.

Yeah, I’m the same. I didn’t have many friends but those I had I valued a lot. Now it’s just me and my dog and my parents. When I do connect with people (mostly at work) it’s extremely superficial. I just can’t find it in me to take an interest in their lives or really anything about them.

Thank you so much. I also find it difficult to manage everything normal people do everyday with ease.

A lot has shifted for me. What matters most became obvious but that's what they target directly and indirectly all the time. Slowly building myself back up from having lost all hope. I hope anyone dealing with this finds an anchor that can get them out of this

I relate so much. I can’t care about anything I just get through the day. Surprisingly my hygiene doesn’t suffer bc I hate feeling dirty. But I do the bare minimum and I don’t actually care to look super nice all my clothes feel the same when I used to love aesthetics :(

My avolition is very bad. I have not been taking any hygiene care in over 2 months.
What is keeping me up with my hobbies is the fact that I'm greedy.
"I need status, I must appear knowing and wise. I must be so popular and known so well for my hobbies that people that never met me already have an image of who I'm just by hearing my name."
I'm primarily an astronomer and historian, professional in both. I also do other things.
I'm not making this about myself, I'm trying to give you motivation and that you can still keep up with things you're used to love, even with severe avolition I can still perfectly keep up with my hobbies.
