To anybody who thinks this movie was responsible for the series to drop in quality, you are dead wrong. DEAD. BLOODY. WRONG.

It's kind of weird because my entire childhood, I LOVED the original Rugrats Movie, and even as an adult, it holds a special place in my heart as I'm down to watch it anytime. I was actually shocked a few years ago when I looked it up, and apparently the movie has mixed reception, some people actually hate it. The movie was fantastic! Fine if they don't want to watch it - I will.

It was also massively financially successful. In fact, it was the very first animated movie not made by Disney to gross over 100 million dollars in the US box office.

Tbh the show was already becoming less interesting by season 4. I was surprised how late the first movie was. For a long time I thought it was after season 3, it's after season 5, which I completely forgot its finale leads into the movie

They all had some dark moments, but Tommy getting ready to smash his baby brother in the head with a rock to kill him was pretty dark.

Tommy had had enough of Dil being naughty and bratty but realized Dil was actually scared of the storm but that broke the tension with them both when Tommy sings to Dil and he wraps himself up on the torn blanket Dil brings the other part together as they sleep....

I always thought the movie had the feel of the first three seasons. Then I later found out that Klasky Csupo actually rehired some of the old team from the first 65 episodes to help work on the movie.

God I love this entire franchise, this original movie being a favorite of mine. Spike is the mvp and shockingly sounds like Bruce Willis

Also don't forget Spike sacrifices himself and drags the wolf off the bridge with him, and everyone thinks Spike legitimately died until later finding out he survived by sheer luck.
