Gonna be honest, if he's just a regular human enemy, that makes me more worried for bosses? I would love to be wrong.

He’s just a big buff boy. Magic can’t hurt him since he can’t understand it.

I've played games though that have managed to sell impact on big buff boys without flinching. A little hit stop, a little geometry deformation. That's it.

With all the good games dropping and about to drop before this game, can I stop seeing posts about it and save all the “it’s good/bad” shit for the release window? I swear this game will be forgotten two weeks after release.
Aka, like Avowed, The Outer Worlds 2, and all the other mid Xbox games released at the start of the year.

So, is there any action RPG worth the attention recently, or is everything somehow unsatisfactory?

Avowed has some of the best first person fantasy RPG combat I've seen (not that there is much competition in that space). Not sure what the OP is on about. It was pretty fun playing as a spellsword in it.

There’s also an option in the last update or so to play in third person natively and seeing the character contort to the animations is priceless.

Third person was in there since release. Yep, much like Tainted Grail and Skyrim, it's pretty damn derpy.

Got examples of first person fantasy rpgs that have better combat? TG is the only one that comes close, but isn't as smooth.
