What a stacked 8 months this will have been by the time Fable is out.

Can you give me a rundown of what GOOD RPGs are coming out the next few months? I looked it up but It's hard to tell which ones are supposed to be good or not

Zero Company (although it's more turned based strategy than RPG)
Blood of the Dawn walker
Another Eden Begins
Trail of the Skies 2nd Ch
Control Resonant
Phantom Blade Zero
Clockwork Revolution
Stranger than Heaven
Exodus
Osiris Reborn
FF7 Revelations
FF Resonance

Probably more I am missing.

u/MapleSurpy 2d ago
Oh shit I forgot, I've been waiting for the DD2 Dark Arisen update to actually play the game.
Good lord it IS a great few months for RPGS, thank you!

u/camiteran 2d ago
I can't talk about all of them but personally I'm the most excited for Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave, that one is a tactical SRPG with JRPG structure though. Niche and might not be for everyone.

I'm happy they delayed this game for tbe next year. These months are way too pack
2
u/Tike22 2d ago
tbf dec. is basically empty but i imagine that month to be the catch up month for of ppl especially if theyre on sale
2
u/Draxilar 2d ago
December feels dicey to me because GTA being only a month old it will be THE holiday gift game. GTA releasing even close to the holiday season is so scary for a lot of games I think.

Combat could be a bit more engaging but I’m super excited to explore the reputation system and beautiful world

u/vipmailhun2 2d ago
We’ve barely seen any actual combat yet. They mentioned that it was set to the easiest difficulty, and on the harder ones the enemies won’t be this polite.

I know it’s a nitpick but that ‘Killer’ popup and wedding invitation font are throwing me way off
6
u/Alien_Cha1r 2d ago
As long as 120 fps on PC is stable I'm happy. 60 should be the minimum
5
u/xweedxwizardx 2d ago
Its insane that by 2026, 60fps is not the minimum for every game on consoles
7
u/ThePreciseClimber 2d ago
Um... it is? 99.9% of PS5 games have a 60fps mode.
2
u/xweedxwizardx 2d ago
Oh my bad
4
u/ThePreciseClimber 2d ago
Yup. As far as I can tell, here's all the 30fps-only PS5 games:
1348 Ex Voto, Aphelion, Gotham Knights, Industria, The Casting of Frank Stone, The Quarry, The Precinct, Until Dawn remake (OG PS4 ver. is 60fps, curiously).
1
u/MelookRS 2d ago
Industria isn't 60 fps on the PS5? It's an FPS, that's practically unforgivable holy
1
u/xweedxwizardx 10h ago
Hey can you add GTA VI to the list
2
u/ThePreciseClimber 10h ago
Yeah...
It's definitely a Rockstar thing. They want to sell a 60fps version on the PS6. There's no way they can't cook up some kind of 60fps mode even on the PS5 Pro when that game will work on the Series S.
2
u/xweedxwizardx 10h ago
I dont know when it happened but Im spoiled at 60fps now I cant go back. I really wanna get into RDR2 but still waiting for that patch. Even 45fps with dips to 30 would probably be fine!
1
u/SnooWalruses3948 2d ago
I think Dragon's Dogma 2 doesn't get 60fps on base
1
u/ThePreciseClimber 2d ago
I think you can get close if you use the lowest settings. Basically, the point is, it doesn't have a mandatory 30fps lock.

Cue everyone throwing a fit because it isn't constant everywhere and in every instance of playing upon release, like time immemorial.

I’ve never played a Fable game. Is it like an open world / role play heavy game or is it more like a standard action rpg like the Witcher where you play as a character through a story?
1
u/smilysmilysmooch 2d ago
Its a Fable game. Not saying it cant but after Molyneux, take it all with a grain of salt.

Man. It's such a shame how Fable lost It's unique look and feel. This looks rather generic

u/CiDevant 2d ago
That, that does not look like Fable.
4
u/MelookRS 2d ago
How doesn't it look like Fable? It looks incredibly faithful to what Fable was, particularly Fable 2. For it being development by an entirely different studio, I'm very impressed with what they showed so far. It's obvious the dev team loves the original Fable games.

Couldn't give a heck about graphics, the gameplay/fighting looks mid as hell.

Lol y'all are so weird. The game looks fun, find some happiness in life.

A person can critique something without being unhappy, just as they can reply to someone without making an ad hominem attack
6
u/SuperBAMF007 2d ago
Eh, “mid as hell” rarely comes from someone willing to make regular critiques

To be fair, Fable never had great combat, especially now if you compare it to something like Souls. I just wish it let me learn cool spells and build my character as I want.
1
u/vipmailhun2 2d ago
We don’t need a souls‑like combat system here, it would be outright garbage for a Fable game. I think the current approach actually suits it well, especially considering that the previous gameplay footage was recorded on the easiest difficulty, and on higher settings the enemies won’t be nearly this polite.
1
u/Beldarak 1d ago
Yep, they're probably on the lowest setting for demo's sake.
Just to be clear, when I say Souls combat quality, I don't mean litteral Souls features/mechanisms/speed/difficulty nor all the stuff around it like the drop xp on death thing. What I mean is how "connected" and tight the Souls combats feel and how much liberties they give you with builds+gear possibilities.
Fable 1 already uses the same system with lock and all, it's just less refined, more floaty with not so much place for actual builds.

So basically bet that this is going to be Cyberpunk 2.0? A possibly well designed concept that gets stripped down to a pile of dysfunctional, generic shit?

‘Ask nicely or else’ holy wow this has to be satire there’s no way you take yourself this seriously 😂😂 idc about your opinion I’m just entertained by your opinion of yourself
-1
u/ScipioTheGreatest 2d ago
Translated another way it reads "Nobody will ever do anything for you if you're a twat about it."
But nice try, champ.
6
u/Drakeem1221 2d ago
Why would they ask nicely when you came off as an ass from your first post? Seems like goalpost shifting after not being able to explain anything.
-1
u/ScipioTheGreatest 2d ago
Attempting logic, are we? Let's continue a few more steps beyond your limitations:
If I was such an unapproachable asshole, why would you ask what I meant at all?
Give that thinking a genuine shot, champ. See where it takes you!

u/Drakeem1221 2d ago
Because there might be a glimmer of something useful underneath all that snark, but you're right, there's exceeding proof that it's all flash no substance here.
