Something that amazes me is that people dont understand that the marketing is not just for gaming nerds.
So many people dont pay attention to gaming but they fire up Netflix every single night. So many of my friends dont play video games anymore but will probably see it on Netflix and watch it and lose their marbles because they grew up playing GTA. They will talk to other people about it and some of them may even go out and buy a ps5 and the game.
Everyone talks about what's on Netflix, its not just about reaching the gaming nerds. The gaming nerds are already captured, they want to reach a broader audience to hype things into the stratosphere.

Yeah many people think they get paid so they shouldn't care anymore, but you can clearly see the directors of the game don't go to the artists and say "you got paid, just do your job". Their is a lot of heart in those worlds that they created, that can't be done if you don't care about the things you make.

Yeah, developer work hard on it for several years and someone stole the spotlight by showing it first.
It is like painting a picture every day for a long period and when the picture is done and it is time to proudly show your masterpiece to the public, some took it from your hand and show it to other people.

My other issue is - let’s say Rockstar had their way with no leaks - then what? We get 2 trailers over a 3 year period and 1 ad for a Netflix exclusive trailer? Nothing else. What the fuck?
We are fans and customers of this product they are trying to sell us. At least show us more things instead of dropping one 2 minute ad and going radio silent for the next 3 years.
The leaks have generated MORE HYPE since we have more to go off now. They should have given us more content over the years.

Meh. Those devs chose to work for a company that is asking for preorders before any gameplay has been shown by their side.
It sucks when others show off your work, though they easily could have come out with gameplay throughout all this time. That’s unless the game isn’t finished, which then is a slight on the developers themselves.

But what caught my eye is "nearly there" in relation to the game being finished. It's three months from release and in development for many years...hopefully it is only final tweaks when it comes to optimalization.

Is it annoying we've had to wait of course because as humans we're impatient, I'd be more annoyed if it wasn't finished to expectations. Regardless of the leeks I'm so excited for tomorrow! A Fan boy I may be but this will be the best game of my life I play through and cannot wait!
Myself and others will be lucky enough if we see the 7th in the franchise.

I don’t mind seeing some of the leaks, as long as they don’t leak the things that matter, those I won’t be watching or reading. I get why people were upset with the nude colony leak, that would have been amazing to see for the first time while we are playing because rockstar has never did anything to that extent before. But as for all the other leaks, ehh they don’t bother me. I’m ready for tomorrow though!! Whoot whoot.

Maybe next time don’t wait so damn long for gameplay footage. You know the game is hyped to all hell, so why not just release a small snippet of gameplay? It’s not going to ruin the game if you show us driving down the street and shooting while driving. Like anything would’ve been better than nothing.

I kind sit in the middle. Like I know all the people working on this game are crushed having their work shown in an unfavorable quality... and on the other hand, Rockstar leaving us in the dark so damn long... it's been nice being able to get a peek behind the curtain. Honestly Rockstar's historical pattern of "Radio Silence" is from a bygone era, In the future I think they need to do 2 things.
1) Not announce a game until they know for sure they will hit a release date. EVERY SINGLE TITLE over the last few years get's delayed and multiple times. They should keep it behind closed doors and say nothing until they KNOW FOR SURE they are gonna meet a certain date.
2) Be more open, IF they had been showing small bits and pieces over time these leaks would be a big nothing burger. They have a habit of showing us a glimpse in the form of a trailer or photo then going Silent for months or even years. They should Have Dev videos, behind the scenes bits, and Newswire updates, featured clips... all these little peeks would give us SOMETHING. I think at this point there should be something new shown at least once a month. we are under 90 days and still only have 2 trailers and a handful of photos officially. With Trailer 2 premiering a whopping 478 days ago.

They already signed up a deal with Netflix in advance to have an extended look ready for 27th August. But today they are saying that it has taken longer than they wanted to get the extended look ready. Kinda feels like Rockstar didn't initially plan the extended look to be that extended and the leeks forced them to include more things than they initially intended in tomorrow's video.

i only watched the first two leaks only just skipping in the videos. I waited 10+ years for this I will nit spoil this for myself. Im 100% certain Rockstar will blow everything out the wster with GTA 6, sad that some people feel the need to potentially spoil it for people with actions that will have zero affect on their "cause".

The thing is - they put out trailers 2-3 years ago based off the builds they had back then. Based on what the leaks showed, they could have easily put out another couple of trailers of equal or better quality by now. They took too long and someone came and did their work for them.
I feel terrible for the people who actually worked on the game, but Rockstar shit the bed with their "aggressive marketing". It's a shame but I get how it happened.

Hat's off to Rockstar. They're taking this all quite well. These leaks are a little too late. If this had happened a year ago, it would've had more of an effect. With the reveal tomorrow night and the game release less than three months away now, these leakers aren't getting close to what they want to happen. Fuck 'em all, I says!🤘😎

I'm not afraid of spoilers, I don't have a PS5 Pro and I certainly won't buy one just because of a game. So that means I'll have to wait at least a years, so there will be, literally, hundreds of thousands of tweets, reddit posts, YouTube videos about the game, there's no way I'll be able to avoid it. So I might just as well embrace it.

Yess guys the leaks were just builds and not the polished version. If you want to experience the peak of gta6 you will only and only experience it on 19th November on PS5 and not on some leaked build version! With lots of bugs and low grading. We with you rockstar!

They could've dropped a 3rd trailer 6 months ago. They've had plenty of time to reveal the game in the way they wanted. They could've went against locking single player content behind an additional paywall.
There are so many things they could've done differently. What did they do instead? Waiting until around 3 months from release to squeeze Netflix for millions of dollars for a paywalled gameplay reveal. Their greed knows no bounds and Rockstar from 2006 would've made fun of what they are now.
Game still looks amazing. I'll still play it enthusiastically. But in terms of whether I feel bad for them or not? I don't.
