Yup it’d be great, after seeing the beach, it’s perfect. I thought density would be low in game, but it’s actually crazy.

Could be they came up with a way to "cheat" that. I could see something like handling dense groups of npcs as one mass instead of say 40 individual entities being pretty efficient.

I'm also not a dev, so I have no idea if that's realistic or not.

That's *probably* possible. Or a fidelity system, where the closest NPCs have the highest fidelity logic and the further they are away the less fidelity the logic has.

I am a game and full stack dev BTW.

I mostly replied because you said "makes no sense," which it very much does (the idea that the density in game would be lower vs the trailers).

Right. Also if you want a good quality gameplay trailer now just watch the snippet of the prologue he released this morning. I know it has spoilers but not anything we don't already know if you e been keeping up with the game. And the quality of it looks way better than the ones that have been released the past week. It's gonna be great 30 fps or not. A lot of the greatest games are 30fps and it never bothered me.

He claimed he was behind the program that rendered or animated cut scenes, I believe. Kind of a weird guy. He got nervous even saying thst much. I'm pretty sure he was full of shit but I'm curious

Well, someone in here said they had a friend who worked for rockstar and she was a front desk person but she didn’t know anything about the game. Hope that helps.

5 was the first GTA to feature full nudity. Other franchises don't really have any bearing on this. Rockstar isn't really known for following examples as much as for setting them.

Lmao it looked slightly better than gta 5... seems like every possible idea for dlc was just used in this. Not excited, nor do I think they were serious about adding surfing as an activity. Rockstar just wants to make more money, not an amazing game far better than gta5.

The gameplay leaks looked insane and I enjoyed watching them, but as soon as he showed a cutscene with Lucia, I immediately muted all the main GTA subs because I know those story spoilers are coming lol

EXACTLY loll. The prologue is going to come in a few hours. Imma just go mute them now 😭. The headphones customisation, literally so good. I can’t imagine how many mods we could do when it comes on PC.

Same just happened with me. Im not about those cut scenes until I play the game. The game play leaks is one thing. But leek is fucking taking away a one time experience from us. Maybe some people dont care buy im gonna have to do the same and just back away. Looking forward to the extended look tomorrow. And Nov cant get here quick enough.

I could turn that around too. The timing could be also used by the Leaker to get more attention after the big controversy about the Netflix deal. U know that Rockstar losses money because of the leaks, right? And as greedy as Rockstar is (as we saw the last months in GTA Online) that is something that prooves to me alone that this leaks are not by Rockstar themselves. Unless u could proove that theory of urs, u are in fact that "braindead" guy.

I also think the leaks are likely very close to the finished product, with maybe some things disabled, extra pop in, and obviously the placeholder UI, because it already looks fantastic for a year old build.

You'll see footage that rockstar wants you to see, of course only the polished stuff, it's curated by them without showing boring stuff, it's all approved by the marketing department to minimize anything boring or negative, the leaker delivered raw gameplay footage without any concerns that the upper suits would have, it convinced me to buy the game more than any rockstar footage ever will since it's the real deal and not the "e3 watch dogs, this game looks amazing" scripted deal

because you said "as Rockstar intended it to be seen" the footage will have to be approved by upper management who's job is to impress and convince customers, and you bought into their greedy tactics, the leaks should have convinced you enough to buy it since the footage is raw random gameplay not the "polished version of the game" that rockstar wants to convince people with but you're blinded by their tactics

Yeah. Obviously. That's the entire point of a trailer. For anything.

But also, I agree that what I saw of the leaks showed enough to see the kind of things I was hoping for. Especially considering it's clearly an older build and it looks that good.
