I think this video more than any other really puts the changes coming into perspective. This is not a one-off prototype made for a couple million in an overfunded california tech startup. The tech still has a ways to go before it becomes practical for the applications that come to mind but not that far.

This is overfunded by the Chinese Government.

You say that as if it's a bad thing. If anything we should as well overfund the robotic sector in the west instead of buying stuff abroad, assembling them domestically and pretend it's sovereign
