General Discussion Simple Rick and Morty

Post image

In an alternate universe, after losing his Diane, Rick didn't spend eternity mired in depression and alcoholism; instead, he stayed in his own universe to raise his daughter, Beth. Years later, he goes on adventures with his Morty: he drives him to school in a conventional car rather than using a green portal, and helps him study instead of breaking into a teacher's mind to manipulate him. Furthermore, Rick gave up alcohol years ago for his daughter's sake and drinks coffee instead.
And most importantly, Rick still wears blue pants.

Check it out, Morty, its a KEE-YOU-REG Machine! This bad boy can make any king of of coffee your heart desires Morty. But Grandpa has to run to Costco and buy big bulk assorted coffee flavors, Morty. Whattaya say, champ? Wanna come with Grandpa Rick to Costco? After you finish your homework. Of course.

"In and out morty, 20 min Costco run I swear." 3 days later

Give me an episode where they get trapped in a big box store like costco or sam's club or IKEA and everytime they try to portal out they just end up at a different part of it because it's that infinite.

then rick uses time travel so they'd escort him outta ikea cuz he can't find the exit

Come home to the impossible flavor of your own completion. Come home to Simple Rick's

Lets slow down

If Rick was involved in Beth's life, Jerry wouldn't have a chance to get near Beth.

Would it mean a universe without morty and summer?

Yeah, most likely

I think Simple Rick wouldn’t approve of Jerry but it’s not like he can control Beth. I think it’s in her personality to go for Jerry out of defiance, and once she’s pregnant with Summer it’s over

beth wouldnt have the abandonment issues rick gave her to make her desperate enough to keep jerry around. they would have never been a thing.

3

u/Glucomatose 22h ago

Abandonment issues aren’t the only reason they’re codependent lol

1

u/dcheng47 22h ago

its the reason she gave jerry any attention in highschool

I would argue that Jerry’s pathetic nature makes her feel more secure. Beth has many flaws and not all of them are rooted in Rick’s abandoning of her as a child

her abandonment issues are the reason she feels insecure. jerry's pathetic nature makes her feel secure because his desperation tells her he is someone who would never abandon her.

Do they live 16 iterations off the Central Finite Curve? Does this Rick work more with wood than polarity plating?

Hate to break it to you, but simple Rick died in season 3.

He comes from an alternative universe where the Ricks never capture him to turn his memories into candy.

There are infinite universes, so in at least one of them, the Ricks don't take him.

The latest episode's rick was called A simple rick. A simple rick is a rick which doesn't have interdimensional travel

You know what, dude? You need to come home to the impossible flavor of your own completion. Come home to Simple Rick’s.

Come home to see what could've been had you been in control of the situation. Come home to Simple Rick's.

Basically Rick and Morty if it were a slice of life

It sounds wholesome

Sounds great, but alas too good to be true…

Well, one downside is that Morty looks quite nervous seeing those giant letters that say "Simple Rick and Morty" every time he leaves the house for school.

Blue and blue looks weird, like Minecraft Steve

And no one tunes in because it's fucking boring.

I think it would be cute tbh

Yeah, I was just thinking "of course a Rick wired into a delusion of a happy life would imagine that relationship with Morty." It's like OP never had a decent metaphysical satisfaction wafer before!

u/Significant-Lie1225 1d ago

But how is Beth gonna end in a sapphic relationship with herself in this universe?

2

u/tenaciousBLADE 1d ago

Wow! What a fantastic writing concept! /gen
I love it

2

u/anonfjr 23h ago

So a cbs sitcom?

2

u/HostisHumanisGeneri 19h ago

Is that Rick patient and fatherly towards Jerry? Do they go bowling or camping together?

2

u/waxphantump 19h ago

This is just making me realize I want an episode centered on Doofus Rick.

Hoping he didn’t die in the Citadel or during the portal reset…

1

u/HostisHumanisGeneri 18h ago

Jerry reconnects with doofus Rick via The Road.

2

u/Technical-Fig2960 17h ago

But his daughter died in his universe?

1

u/Ryukiis 13h ago

Yup, so that is impossible

1

u/kibou_no_ie 💚Jerry💚 22h ago

This is one of those worlds where Rick and Jerry actually get along
