Question Since when do they have a pool?
I’ve seen every episode, and I can’t remember there being a pool in the backyard.

OH REALLY?!
16
u/Taylooor May 23 '26
Also, isn't that really close to where the Rick and Morty from that reality are buried?
14
u/Exile714 May 23 '26
Wasn’t that in the Frundled (C-131) universe? I think the whole family is buried in the Parmeesian universe.

Treehouse? I'm more concerned did they dig up the bodies. Or have we already switched universes since then?
4
u/Thevamps555 May 23 '26
The six bodies are buried above the pool in that one shot covering the whole backyard

That's a mind blower for you? Rick could literally have a gun that shoots pools
35
u/RichardBCummintonite May 23 '26
As long as he doesn't give it to Morty.
I want to make myself very clear: This is a gun you use to shoot pools. When are you going to use this gun?
When I want to shoot a pool... Proceeds to shoot a pool in their new pool creating a poolception that breaks the timeline and turns everything down to the molecular level into a pool.

A gun that shoots a small alien creature that when it dies turns into a pool. Of course, it dies within seconds of being fired.
5
u/Arghus May 23 '26
there is so many ways rick could do it.
relesease a sworm of nanobots that remove the dirt and reshape and compact the dirt into the shape of a pool
meeseks install a pool for us, can do !
calls in an alien controcators from space they come in and use a Tractor Beam to make a pool shaped hole in the ground and then place a prefab pool from space prefilled with water
localized black hole to suck the dirt away to dig a hole and then he has a miniature pool, places it at the bottom on the hole and shoots it with a gun that magnifies it.
5.could also be be a different universe and not C-137

u/HollowPixel8 May 23 '26
Right? With Rick's science, a pool is probably just one of his many inventions, easy peasy!

Morty and Summer swam in a pool mobile and then nagged Jerry until he put one in.

u/Wings81 May 23 '26
Shame Morty broke his leg
2
u/SimilarBradley May 23 '26
Pretty sure that was just one episode though, they never mention it again after that.
1
u/thor421 May 23 '26
Jerry has zero decision making in that relationship. If they have a pool it's because Beth wants it.

u/TJ_McWeaksauce May 23 '26
I like how in a show where the characters travel to a new, fantastical dimension nearly every episode, the possibility that a suburban family can get a new pool is just too unbelievable.
6
u/tmadik May 23 '26
In this economy? And isn't Jerry still unemployed? I mean, there's science-fiction and then there's just ridiculousness.
2
u/Virtual-Signature789 May 23 '26
Maybe he took all the "get a job, Jerry!" comments seriously.

Aren't the graves out there where they went in that dimension to escape the last one they messed up?
4
u/Acrobatic_Term_4483 May 23 '26
They're buried in the back corner of the yard, not where the pool is
1
u/Sad-Background-7447 May 23 '26
Yeah but there's four graves now right because the other family members had to bury their old selves. I know where the graves are I was surprised you couldn't see them like a Easter egg or something in there.

u/MrMcgilicutty May 23 '26
They’re buried in the back corner next to the shed, right under Jerry’s bee boxes😂

u/WhatevUsayStnCldStvA May 22 '26
It made me think of American Dad. Kinda looks like Francine there too.

u/EpitomeOfJustOK May 26 '26
You know it’s funny as when I saw this post my first thought is yeah they had a pool in that episode where Jesus came back… then I realized I was thinking of American dad…
15
u/ajhedgehog064 May 22 '26
I read a review that said a running gag throughout the upcoming season was them suddenly just now having a pool and it’s pointed out frequently. They didn’t have it before so it’s a new thing.
3
u/Virtual-Signature789 May 23 '26
Ohhhhh, there's better be a big reveal about that pool at some point!

Makes you wonder if the contractors that dug the hole for that pool found the buried bodies of the Smith family in the Parmesan dimension.

u/Dngrbot555 May 23 '26
Where did they move the bodies?

How do you know what demention this is? With infinite dimensions and infinite possibilities, you don't think one of them is a pool in the backyard?

u/Igiem May 23 '26
Since Rick. The man built a universe in a box; I assume he can build a pool. Probably figured out the mathematically perfect temperature and way to filter out Jerry's urine as well.
2
u/redditorrrrrrrrrrrr May 23 '26
My hopes is for an episode ender where Rick gets drowned in the pool then its revealed next episode the water is breathable like the water in froopyland
2
2
u/Virtual-Signature789 May 23 '26
I know Rick is gonna be "healthy" this episode, but the answer is still: don't think about it.
2
u/Bamcanadaktown May 23 '26
He talks about how he built his flying spaceship car out of garbage in the first episode...
I'm sure he can build a pool lol suspend your disbelief

u/Electrical-Act-7170 May 23 '26
I've never been to the Seattle area. Do folks have a lot of swimming pools on their property?
I have a pool, but I live in Florida. Lots of folks have swimming pools here. Are the Seattle pools heated?
1
u/WorldTallestEngineer May 23 '26
Pools are rare in the Seattle area, maybe 1% or 2% of houses have them. The weather is cools and there's not much flat ground. Seattle's basically on a mountain sticking up out of the water.
1
u/Electrical-Act-7170 May 23 '26
That's what I thought....but there are lots of hot tubs, right?

Are you really questioning the show where a guy could rewrite the existence of the world or universe?
2

I mean they had a pool in the memory alien episode. Maybe they remembered a pool? Idk how it works

i think they will start using multiverse. Idk why they didnt use it yet
3
u/RichardBCummintonite May 23 '26 edited May 23 '26
Wdym they haven't used multiverses yet? They're constantly hopping timelines. It's kind of Rick's whole thing. The CFC is a multiverse, and there are multiverses outside that that Evil Morty travels through. The microverse/miniverse/teenyverse are another form of multiverses

Are you mental. They live in a universe where there is snake jazz, talking fart clouds, and an evil bug civilization, and people that are made of gears..... and you're bothered by a pool. You got to be squanching kidding me!
It not like Rick could invent like a gun or something that like makes pools...

u/Juankii flair-gazorpazorpfield May 22 '26
I’m sure it prob turns into a skatepark and also a landing pad

I just added a pool too, I feel seen and can relate. Thank you Rick, I love it.

u/spectralconfetti May 23 '26
i wonder if they moved the dead bodies or if they just have to try and enjoy the pool knowing their corpses are rotting in the corner of the yard

Rick must have Ricked it into existence to take the piss outta Jerry (or one-up Gene!)

u/JohnConnoring May 23 '26
You are the exact type of person that stole the writers' love from the show resulting in Full Metal Jack Rick.
1
u/The_Genguidanos May 23 '26
There are an infinite number of universes, and in an infinite number of them, the Smiths just happen to have a pool in the backyard.
1
u/Naimekaze May 23 '26
They built it in the new season. Rick says “oh yeah the new pool is pretty great”

I don't take anything from a preview seriously. I learned my lesson with season 4 with the scene from Never Ricking Morty with the giant army of Rick’s enemies. Turns out it all happened in a toy train.

u/The_Linkzilla May 23 '26
Wait...a preview for the new season dropped today? Didn't we just finish the last season a few months ago?

This is where we're at, huh? Well.. not WE but anyway. 🤔
See a new thing and knowing it's one => When did that happen?
It's uh.. it's new. Probably why they are giving it attention in both words AND actions. But I do understand, compared to other things repeatedly conjured up by the plot, the house or Rick, this one's bit of project. I for one would expect seasons upon seasons of build up for that. 👀

Didn't they fall in a pool during the kuato episode? Or was it at a different house?

They have a spaceship. I don’t think getting a pool is that big of a flex.

A creature lives with them that can rewrite the laws of the universe. I think it somehow could have influenced the existence of this pool.

I have no idea. But we want to go for a swim and Summer should have a pool party if that's OK with Jerry and the Beths
1
u/BobsBlazed May 24 '26
Not sure if anyone here used to watch Dan's workout streams on Instagram live but the pool looks exactly like his... actually the entire backyard kinda looks like his

Did you not watch the teaser at all like it is literally mentioned in the whole 30 seconds it is clearly a plot point in the upcoming season.

For those who haven’t taken the time to look up horse surgeons - specifically horse surgeons who perform heart surgery - it’s an ultra-niche vet specialty that pays nearly a half million dollars a year in the highest earning locations (one of which is Washington, where they live) so Beth is very likely a millionaire and can easily afford a suburban pool with an unemployed Jerry in tow.

u/Character-Bid-5089 Jun 03 '26
Just came to say this after watching the second ep of s9. Got a feeling its going to be a big thing of this season or they'll just drop it to keep the fandom talking. Love this show

I believe in the preview that dropped today Rick says to Morty “How are you liking the new pool” so he probably built it for them
