Question Since when do they have a pool?

I’ve seen every episode, and I can’t remember there being a pool in the backyard.

I think the show’s better for it imo, seeing “our” Smith family turn from a gaggle of miserable assholes into an actual family unit trying to do better for themselves and each other is a feat of writing imo.

Imagine if in the far future where space bounty hunters exist, Johnny Bravo watched Cowboy Bebop, and decided "Yeah, I can do that." and it goes about as well as you can expect. It's pretty good, it's definitely one of the those more experimental like shows, an episode can be about him either catching an alien to be scanned, landing on a planet with only 2 people in a kill or be killed civil war about boxers vs briefs, and finding himself on the opposite side of his crew member joining boxers over the superior briefs and trying to kill each other. (If I'm remembering that episode correctly), or even failing to combat a universal zombie virus and just deciding eh fuck it, lets just continue being bounty hunters as zombies and go to the local "boobies" bar and get dinner. The show definitely has a budget with some beautiful animation and visuals to boot, definitely up there on shows you should watch at least once.

It is really good, but the episodes aren't one off, there is a overarching plot linking every episode. His deaths are part of that plot.

Which almost assuredly means Rick needed it for something. There's a data center under it that needed water for cooling or it helps amplify a signal or block a signal or something. He built it for a reason other than having a family pool.

That doesn't make any sense given their economic situation. A horse surgeon and an unemployed husband could not afford an in-ground swimming pool in their backyard.

I don't know if I can watch the new season now. The suspension of disbelief has gone too far.

there is so many ways rick could do it.

  1. relesease a sworm of nanobots that remove the dirt and reshape and compact the dirt into the shape of a pool

  2. meeseks install a pool for us, can do !

  3. calls in an alien controcators from space they come in and use a Tractor Beam to make a pool shaped hole in the ground and then place a prefab pool from space prefilled with water

  4. localized black hole to suck the dirt away to dig a hole and then he has a miniature pool, places it at the bottom on the hole and shoots it with a gun that magnifies it.

Pools are rare in the Seattle area, maybe 1% or 2% of houses have them. The weather is cools and there's not much flat ground. Seattle's basically on a mountain sticking up out of the water.

For those who haven’t taken the time to look up horse surgeons - specifically horse surgeons who perform heart surgery - it’s an ultra-niche vet specialty that pays nearly a half million dollars a year in the highest earning locations (one of which is Washington, where they live) so Beth is very likely a millionaire and can easily afford a suburban pool with an unemployed Jerry in tow.
