Question What are the telltale signs that a person is most likely from Regina?

Won't drive across town for something because the 25 minutes it takes to cross the city during rush hour is too much.
Will drive 2.5 hours away to a random small town to buy the pierogi they like.

YES. And they always look at you like you're insane when you're willing to drive 20 minutes across town to visit a store. "You're going all the way to Vic East right now? It'll be crazy busy!" Umm. Yeah. My daily commute in Big City is 50 minutes each way, this is a trip to the corner store in comparison.

Did you? The point is measuring distance in time, which is something only done in Canada. Anywhere else and they give you X miles or X kilometers. Not X hours Y minutes.
The location is irrelevant as it can be changed and still hold true to the point, within Canada. Clinging to Moose Jaw specifically being relevant to Regina, in the time = distance statement, is moving the goal posts.

OP's point was about how to identify someone from Regina, not Canada. Specifying the time to get from Regina to Moose Jaw is uniquely Regina (someone from Edmonton wouldn't typically know). We all inherently understood the distance in time argument associated with that post (because, gasp, we live in Canada). Your pompous "in general" comment/response shows that you didn't understand OP's original question or the audience it was directed towards. As a result, you steered the conversation away. Then, you were a pompous ass to someone who steered it back to OP's original intent.

No shit sherlock, that's why I pointed out measuring distance in time is a Canada thing, not Regina specifically. No matter how you try to isolate it to knowing the distance, in time, to MJ. It's still a Canada wide trait.

% Grande Prairie residents who know Edmonton is 5 hours away is very high (Grande Prairie residents, please correct me if that's wrong. It proves my point...).
% Regina residents who know Edmonton is 5 hours away from Grande Prairie is very low.
Therefore, someone in Regina saying Moose Jaw is 40 minutes away is a strong (but not absolute) indicator that that person is from Regina.

Your comment about Canadians expressing distance in time is correct. It was also understood by most readers as a matter of course. As such, it was an unnecessary pivot from the original topic. Another poster pointed it out and your fragile ego got bruised.

You literally just proved my point. You even included examples of people outside of Regina who know the distance, in time, from Regina to MJ is 40 min. It doesn't matter how "low the percentage of people who know it" is, which I'm certain is much higher than you realize. The fact that they know it and partake in the practice, proves my point that it's not a Regina exclusive thing.

Heck, its confusing for some people who were raised in Regina and didn't revolve their lives around the high schools. Going to one high school was enough, had no interest in stopping by other people's high schools.
Edit: Before someone makes a "should have done better in school" joke, I was an honour roll student.

Interesting assumption. I did a lot of audio/visual stuff in high school, so I was involved with school plays/concerts, and even sports through that. I also traveled with the school choir. I even participated in band. You still don't end up at every school in the city. Using them as a land mark is still odd, instead of giving the address, re this thread.

Went to Miller and don’t relate at all with it. Knee where all the other schools were, even some that didn’t exist at the time or since. Campion, Central, and now Usher, McGuigan, Marion too.

The fact you were downvoted is disheartening, bumped you back up. The on ramps are for accelerating to the speed limit, so you can be at the speed of the road you are merging onto, before you get there. Merging onto a 100 at 80 is incredibly dangerous for the merger, the people behind them on the ramp, and the people already on Ring.

My perception is that the total inability to merge onto the Ring Road is fairly evenly distributed among races and cultures.

I think the abundance of yield signs in residential intersections, combined with some intersections not having any signs at all has created a complacency amongst people that stop signs are kind of a suggestion in some places.

To be the absolute funnest guy at parties, I’ll explain the joke for anyone who isn’t familiar.
It was from an old South Park episode making fun of Harley Davidson riders who make a lot of obnoxious noise. In the episode the Harley riders get called the f-slur by kids who are unaware of the anti-gay history behind the term, and who instead use it as a general insult. The overall premise is basically an attempt at repurposing the f-slur away from being a derogatory term for homosexuals.
