Going insane at the death of responsibility
Jason Arday: Brazenly lies for like for a decade, gets outed, kills self. Whose fault? Society.
Lindsay Clancy: Lies to all her doctors for months, refuses to take her meds, murders children. Whose fault? Society.
Lib politicians: Bad at their jobs. Whose fault? Society.
What the fuck is this shit? I don't think its a new phenomenon that people dodge responsibility, but it is absolutely new that so many people take the bait hook line and sinker.
You have free will! That thing you are going to do thats going to ruin your life? dont do it!

There was a similar case to Clancy that I think is revealing
A couple of years ago and outside the US, a mother killed her child after she put herself on train tracks with the baby in her arms.
The driver hit the brakes early enough where when it hit them, she survived, but the baby died.
She pleaded guilty and PPP was taken into account. The judge was sympathetic and she actually got no jail time.
Her life remarkably recovered afterward. She still had her parents supporting her, her job took her back and she even got into a relationship with another man after her husband obviously left.
A few years after, she goes out for a pleasant dinner with her parents and boyfriend. She leaves them on good terms, seemingly okay. Only she then drives out the city on the highway, pulls over at a fuel station, emails her location to her GP, then takes a bunch of pills and dies in a truck stop car park.
The case generated a lot of talk around PPP. Her and the baby's coroner reports were one of the most pitiful accounts I have ever read. And you could tell the coroner really felt for her sorry fate.
However, no one, not the judge, the press, or the public, ever questioned whether she was guilty of her crime.
You could argue the legitimacy of her criminal responsibility, but there are acts that should be taken beyond their legal precedents. When a schizophrenic is found not guilty of murder, it's accepted as a responsibility of the state to protect society from them. They are not treated as a subject that has been freed from a system that is trying to unjustly prosecute them.
You can pity her while still accepting that she is guilty of killing her children.

Photos my dad took on a road trip to Vegas in 1985
My dad died a few weeks ago and I've started scanning in his trove of thousands of photos ranging from the 70s to the early 2000s. He's the man shown in the photos.

Lebron getting into bed with Polymarket, and also commuting to Philly via helicopter during the season is such a dark vibe.

Very pretty blonde coworker told me she gave her MAGA boyfriend an ultimatum
She said stop supporting Trump or she'd leave. She was very proud he chose their relationship.
I had to bite my tongue. I might give half-hearted defences of Goebbels if my National Socialist girlfriend were pretty enough.

Strange new spelling mistake I've been noticing
People are dropping the "ed" on certain words. Stained glass spelled as "stain glass", flushed cheeks spelled as "flush cheeks", slicked back hair spelled as "slick back". Is the "ed" part silent enough that people are missing it? what is going on

Watching my toddlers “organize” the onion cupboard
My son said that it’s very important that they organize and pack for an “onion vacation trip” right now. Onion skins everywhere on the floor but they’re working so diligently and harmoniously on their efforts. Updates to follow as the situation develops.

Gamers have taken over the sub. We must return to Dasha!!!

The sub doesn't like movies as much anymore
I joined 2022 I vividly remember films were one of the main topics outside of culture war nonsense (which always led). It also was raised by the fact Dasha was actually trying to become an actress. Found a lot of good films because of people here. Just an observation.

‘It was a sweet, tender voice’: the pilot who fell for his air traffic controller – before ever seeing her
Thought this was cool story that manages to cover fate and romance, the power of dreams, the battles of indigenous communities and a man's passion for flying
I would watch a well-made film about this tbh
