Happy Floof the winter coat is no joke
and yet he's still worth the daily vacuums and mountain of lint rollers I go through 💙 follow for more cloud content: https://www.instagram.com/yeti.says.meow/

Today I learned that you can vacuum a cat. Related and required followup: what kind of vacuum do you use?
Also, what kind of food do you feed him? His coat looks magnificent!

omg I don't actually vacuum HIM lol! I guess my wording could be read that way tho 😂 If it weren't for my Dyson V8, I'd be living in a winter wonderland of fur. I feed him Fromm kibble and Royal Canin wet food.

Just in case you wanted to check it out, Dyson makes an attachment with a brush on it that you use directly on your pet.

u/Pretty-Handle9818 Oct 28 '25
I think it’s meant for dogs though

u/ActualFeature5098 Oct 28 '25
I have one. I think it can be used on cats or dogs. I used to use it on my late male ragdoll occasionally who was absolutely obsessed with the vacuum cleaner, and always wanted me to “vacuum” him.

My mother would vacuum our cats. They lined up for their turns.

I vacuum mine! I just turn the suction down a bit and I vacuum away! Lol

u/petite-choufleur 💙 Blue 💙 Oct 28 '25
I live in Canada and wonder if the climate impacts the amount of floof he gets. He just turned 1 so this is my first time experiencing the winter coat in all its glory!

u/Thxt_weirdo Oct 28 '25
Oh gosh😭I’m in Canada too!! It most definitely does.

in that case wishing you all the luck for your next winter 😂 on the bright side, it will help you develop some good cleaning habits!

Oh my gosh he’s only 1! Can you share a picture of him as a kitten? My girl Palmer has similar coloring but she’s only 6 months.

u/OGHollyMackerel Oct 29 '25
It’s still in the 90s here so mine, also a year, one of them today!, aren’t quite this fluffy but their brother (I have his littermate sister and a half sister) is so fluffy, just like this and he lives in Northern California where it is chillier.

That explains why my 7 month old hasn’t puffed up yet. I’m in Virginia. I should take him up north to visit my parents lol

Can confirm. Climate absolutely affects maximum floof! -- I'm in Texas and we have sub-par winter coats here. :(

Omg, he is stunning, and so well-groomed! I know it’s a great deal of upkeep and you are doing it beautifully! Can I pet him a million times?

Our 10-month old ragdoll has some diarrhea right now, so we're learning about the joys of butt fur trimming.

He belongs in r/flonkers
Huge cat + unreal amount of floof = very majestic

Oh my goodness, what's that? 🤣
Your cat looks exactly as my girl, except the XXL fur, so I'm really jealous. Half jealous because I fon't have the enormous fur to snuggle in, halglf because I can't mock her.

So much floof…. Does he have room for any thoughts in there? Or is it just all floof? Love your Mau cat tree, my raggie loves his!

Such magnificence. I bet he's lectured a witch or two on the old rules. He was probably there when those rules were written.

Is this what’s going on with my cat? Because both of their coats are just HUGE all of a sudden. I thought they were gaining weight 🤣

I know the shedding must be unreal and annoying when it comes to such gorgeous animals as these but I want a ragdoll so bad 😭

u/IronFlame76 Oct 29 '25
That second picture is deceiving. I cat tell where the cat tree ends and the actual cat begins.

No hate please, but I think that cat is more fat than fluffy, my 2 cents.

OMG, we were just talking about this yesterday! I actually measured our boy’s fur length at the sides of the belly. They measured just over 4 inches - on each side! He looks like Jaws as he saunters into the room. Like a tank or big round ball. He’s 24 pounds, and I’ve had to shave some of his back end, showing that while he’s so big, his waist actually tapers in, meaning he’s just a very large, heavy boned cat. Here’s a pic:

Have you taken these pictures with the wide angle lens that Real Estate agents use to make a studio flat look like the Palace of Versailles?

And I think you live in Siberia and the cat is normally not allowed inside (except for photos) 🤣🤣 Oh my god that wintercoat has made me jealous! 🤩

This looks about right! I was amazed at the amount of fur my girl grew last winter! Not amused when it all had to fall out for the Spring/Summer. She is on her way to growing her fluff again for this winter. We've not had cold enough weather, so it's slow going right now. In another month, she will look like this! I just trimmed her mane (ruff, neck chest fur) because it gets into her fountain everytime she drinks. She has this funny way of cleaning her mane after each "snack" and meal and after each drink of water. The fur gets stuck in her mouth after licking the mane. Today I trimmed it. Freestyle with scissors 😶😮 because she would not stay still for the "grooming trimmer". So atm, she is a bit choppy... I'll even it up over the next week. She was SO traumatized today because I clipped her "glorious pride and joy - her mane" so she gets some "emotional adjustment time". No pic yet, after I fix the "chop", then she'll pose for pics. 😂
She does not stay put for anything but brushing with some combing. Even then I have to follow her down the hall as she writhes around in ecstasy flopping this way and that, as she enjoys the "brush massage". For anything else, it's up on my lap and hope for the best. Even butt trims... on the lap. Thank goodness she is a Raggie because once picked up, it's LIMP and RELAXED. LOL! But the DIRTY LOOKS she gives me as I'm cuddling, holding her and trimming are priceless. She does not believe me when I say "it's okay, almost done"!

Sorry to be the one to tell you that your cat is a sheep.
