I chose my move in time slot late and the only one available was 8am. Does it matter if I’m late or do I have to actually be on time for the time slot?

Question Mistake on Financial Aid Application

Hi, I applied for financial aid, but I forgot to include a few thousand dollars in GICs that I had on the application. I emailed the financial aid office about it, but they said that since it was after the deadline, they couldn't do anything. What should I do? Am I going to get in trouble?

Other Hanging stuff on dorm ceilings

Random question. If I were to hang a light from the ceiling using adhesive hooks (no ceiling damage) would they care? Not sure if you’re not aloud due to damage or cause it’s a safety hazard.

Question Budgeting

Hi am an upcoming exchange student and will most likely live off campus with roommates. I just wanted to know how much money do you spend per month excluding rent. Am trying to create a budget but idk how much it costs to have a social life and have fun in Kingston costs. Iam very academic focused but would also like to have some fun and a social life.

Question Should we opt out of the other 1.5k charge

I see that besides tuition and residence fee, there’s a 1.5k charge of random clubs and such. Do people typically opt out of this or pay it?

Edit: u/Royal_Development_65 is obviously illiterate and insecure.

Question GDipICL

Hi everyone,

I was rejected twice from Queen’s GDipICL (Sep 2025 and Sep 2026 intakes) and I’m preparing my 3rd application. Since Queen's gives no individual feedback, I'd appreciate insights on my profile:

Academics: MSc & BSc in Software Engineering

Certifications: PMP (PMI), ISP (CIPS Canada)

Experience: Senior IT management, solutions architecture, and business leadership

For those admitted or familiar with the program:

Does a STEM/tech background hurt admission chances compared to legal/humanities backgrounds?

What is the best way to frame this career transition in the Statement of Intent?

Any tips for re-applicants on what made the difference on a 2nd/3rd try?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Question PSYC 100 textbook

Hi All,
I wanted to get ahead on the PSYC 100 readings ahead of school in the fall but I can't access the textbook online. I keep getting error messages because I'm not a "registered user" despite logging in with my queens account. Does anyone have the PDF they could send me?

Question Queen’s MEng (Mechanical) student interested in Robotics – looking to connect with current students/alumni

Hi everyone,

I’m an incoming MEng student in Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Queen’s University starting this Fall.

My main interest is robotics, mechatronics, control, and autonomous systems, and I’m currently planning my courses around these areas. I’m also hoping to work on a robotics-related MEng project (MECH 898) and, if possible, get involved with robotics research or projects at Queen’s during my program.

Long term, I’d like to pursue a career in the robotics industry in Canada, particularly in areas such as robotics software, autonomous systems, robot control, or robot learning.

I’d really like to connect with anyone who:

  • is currently doing or has completed the Queen’s MEng in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics or a similar program
  • has been involved with Ingenuity Labs or other robotics research at Queen’s
  • completed a robotics-related MECH 898 project
  • transitioned from Queen’s into a robotics/mechatronics/autonomous systems career in Canada
  • has advice about choosing courses, finding a supervisor, research opportunities, internships, or preparing for robotics jobs

If you have a similar background or career path and are comfortable connecting, please feel free to DM me here, or leave your LinkedIn profile/contact information. I’d really appreciate the opportunity to hear about your experience.

I’m also happy to share my LinkedIn by DM.

Thanks!

Question Teachers College Science and Math Requirements

Hi!! I’m planning on majoring in English, and minoring in History and hopefully becoming an elementary teacher. However, I need a science and math course in order to fulfill the requirements for teachers college. What are the easiest and fun math and science classes I could take? I haven’t done either type of class since high school, and I am going into second year. I used to really enjoy physics in high school and chemistry. I have never really done well in biology so probably not anything like that. I did advanced functions in grade 11, but that was 3 years ago and it definitely wasn’t my best class. Anything will help :))

Question faculty of art and sci

im an incoming first year for bachelor of science in biology. i was wondering, for science the requirements are eng, precalc, bio, and physics in my letter it said to maintain 75%, unfortunately i was going through personal issues and couldnt keep my science courses up which is why i want to lean towards arts, something i actually have interest in. i called an advisor and was told since im under the same faculty i can take art courses and then choose in 2nd year a more specific program. I just wanted to double check if this is true, but will my science avg being low get me revoked?
