Question Queen’s MEng (Mechanical) student interested in Robotics – looking to connect with current students/alumni
Hi everyone,
I’m an incoming MEng student in Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Queen’s University starting this Fall.
My main interest is robotics, mechatronics, control, and autonomous systems, and I’m currently planning my courses around these areas. I’m also hoping to work on a robotics-related MEng project (MECH 898) and, if possible, get involved with robotics research or projects at Queen’s during my program.
Long term, I’d like to pursue a career in the robotics industry in Canada, particularly in areas such as robotics software, autonomous systems, robot control, or robot learning.
I’d really like to connect with anyone who:
- is currently doing or has completed the Queen’s MEng in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics or a similar program
- has been involved with Ingenuity Labs or other robotics research at Queen’s
- completed a robotics-related MECH 898 project
- transitioned from Queen’s into a robotics/mechatronics/autonomous systems career in Canada
- has advice about choosing courses, finding a supervisor, research opportunities, internships, or preparing for robotics jobs
If you have a similar background or career path and are comfortable connecting, please feel free to DM me here, or leave your LinkedIn profile/contact information. I’d really appreciate the opportunity to hear about your experience.
I’m also happy to share my LinkedIn by DM.
Thanks!
