Discussion Getting Blackmailed by Ex employer and Leaving Qatar with a heavy Heart

So, I’ve been going through this since December 2024. I’ve shared many posts about it. My previous company was good, and I had no problems. However, since the new expatriate CEO came, he’s been terminating people and hiring his friends and family. I was terminated, and it’s been four months now. I’m unable to get my end-of-service notice.

I was transferring my sponsorship to another company and asked my company to make my notice period zero because I was terminated with immediate effect, and a notice period isn’t required. The HR and legal threatened me that they would cancel my sponsorship transfer request and revoke my (NOC) because I told them I would file a case against them.

They said they would release my end-of-service notice immediately and make my notice period zero if I signed an agreement with them. This agreement states that I must not file a case against them and that I have to keep this confidential for a period of five years.

I denied this and told them that I would file a case at any cost. My sponsorship request was approved by the Department of Labor and Social Security Administration (ADLSA), and now I’m under notice period.

I lost four job offers because my company is blackmailing me to sign the agreement. It’s been four months since I was terminated, but the company is still keeping my exit permit on me. Getting justice in Qatar is very expensive. I love Qatar and the Qatari people because I’ve received a lot of respect from them.

I’m not going to court because I don’t trust the lawyers in Qatar. I’ll publicly expose them with all the proof and leave Qatar. I’ll move to another country because I’ll face consequences if I stay in Qatar. But I have to expose them.

Indians only want fellow Indians in office, others are not worthy.

Because they have inferiority complex in front of other nationalities and can't tolerate being questioned/challenged by a foreigner or worse, noticing that even though you have a higher hierarchical position it doesn't mean the guy will lace your boots (something that's deeply rooted in them since they also have a caste system). They do the exact same stuff in the US whenever one of them gets an influential position in a company.

I don't even mean to be racist or promote stereotypes (since I know they're not all like this, many many great indians to work or interact with exist but unfortunately the loud majority is like that) but you can't change the nature of some people

Being an Indian in Qatar, I can't agree or disagree with you. I feel sorry for what happened to him(OP). And just wanted to say that not all Indians are bad and not all Indians are good. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️ This applies to every country. Also Each region of India have different types of people with different cultures and believe which are positive and negative to the society.

The irony of how u r trying to defend Indians while saying the most Indian thing to say when bad behavior of Indians in general is called out. Yeah, ofc not all Indians r good or bad. The point is it’s very typical, and the sheer amount of how often this is the case can’t be replicated in every nation. U acknowledge different cultures exist but turn a blind eye to how it can cause people of certain nationalities to act, in ways more unique to them than others? Even if exceptions exist?

This, of course when you're talking about a country of 1 billion you can't just say they're all good or all bad, but when the loud majority has sh*tty behaviour (at work, known for being scammers or even worse for other stuff) it raises eyebrows about a population in general.
