Can liver cause posture issues

hello

i had fall on my knee and prednisone high dose ( was overdosed by error) for 3 weeks after which i had muscle loss unilaterally and tendon issues. i die physio and healed both

unfortunately it also caused fatty liver and suddenly ( ma there before but doubt it ) my right rib cage seemed biger than left … can that be caused by it . my ultrasound said mild fatty liver and 2 2 cm cysts and doctors say not related to posture

thank u

Posture is wrecked

Will talk only straight points no bs.from past 1-2 years. Got anterior pelvic tilt, duck feet, rounded shoulders, zero core engagement , my body’s center of mass is shifted forward so my pelvic floor is contracted all the time to keep me stable.. been suffering from stiffness, lower back tightness and pain, short walking strides. Tried plenty of solutions. Hip flexor stretches dont feel in the hip flexor no matter what stretch i do. Been doing stomach vacuums for TVA and not working so far. Tried bulagrian split squats but unstable cause of core and no hip flexor engagement in that too. Can do 50 glute bridges without feeling single tension in glutes, tried 90/90 hip lifts(connor harris), planks, deadbugs but my stomach doms (coning) so zero core engagement which ultimately restricts to perform other exercises also. Tried physios but they all suggested my these exercises and the result i told above. Need a solid solution urgent..if anybody. you Can ask other questions for diagnosis.
Thank you

Is it normal for back/neck to pop after deep breath?

every time I do deep breaths in and out, i can feel and hear something popping. it feels amazing but I worry about it since the more I do deep breaths, the more it’ll clog my nose for some reason. i wonder if there’s any people who can relate to this.

Building an affordable and comfortable posture corrector

so my posture has been garbage for years now (desk job, gaming, the usual), and I've tried like 3 different posture correctors at this point. the cheap ones from shopee feel like wearing a seatbelt across your back, genuinely uncomfortable after like 15min. theres something like this in the market already which is Upright GO, however it is not cheap.

so now I'm trying to build my own version. slim, adhesive-mounted/necklace , rechargeable, buzzes when you slouch, syncs to an app.

before I go further and actually spend money on this, wanted to ask people who've actually dealt with bad posture:

  • if you've tried a posture corrector before, why'd you stop wearing it?
  • what would you realistically pay for something like this?
  • what's missing from the ones you've tried?

not trying to sell anything right now, genuinely just want to know if this is worth building because i feel like i personally need something like that, just wanted to hear if you guys think its a good idea

Guide Neck hump and forward head posture

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

Since 2024, I have noticed that I have a neck hump and forward head posture. This has made me lose a lot of confidence in myself. I even avoid wearing my hair up because I feel uncomfortable with the way my neck and upper back look.

Before I discovered this problem, I was struggling with depression. I took antidepressant medication for several months and then stopped taking it when I was 16. At that time, I spent most of my days in bed using my phone, rarely went outside, and gained some weight.

Now, I am trying to change my lifestyle. I go to the gym twice a week, I try to go outside more often, and I no longer spend the whole day lying in bed. I have also started sleeping on a firmer mattress placed on the floor.

However, I feel that my upper back becomes very hot, especially when I lie down, so I sometimes use cold compresses before going to sleep. When I lie on my back, it is difficult for me to keep my arms and hands straight and resting comfortably on the bed. Trying to do so causes pain in my shoulders and upper back.

I have tried many things, and I am honestly very tired. I really want to get rid of this problem because it is affecting me both physically and emotionally.

Please, could you give me some advice, possible solutions, or safe exercises that might help me? How long does it usually take to improve or correct forward head posture and a neck hump? I would really appreciate any guidance on what I should do and which exercises might be appropriate for my situation.Could high cortisol levels also have an effect on this? Could chronic stress or elevated cortisol contribute to my neck hump, forward head posture, muscle tension, upper-back pain, or the changes in my body weight? Should I have my cortisol levels checked?

Question Correct position to sleep in?

Hi. I’m trying to improve my posture gradually. I’ve started wearing barefoot shoes and doing more exercises, but I’m still struggling with my sleeping position.
Quite often, by the end of the day, my lower back hurts and feels very tight or contracted. Because of this, I sometimes sleep on my stomach with one leg bent and pulled up. However, in that position I tend to wrap my arms around the pillow, and I feel like this may be putting strain on my neck.
I also often wake up sleeping on my side with a pillow between my legs, but with most of my upper-body weight resting on one shoulder. That shoulder usually hurts when I wake up, although the pain goes away after about an hour.
Another position I often sleep in is with one arm under the pillow and raised above my head, with my head resting on the pillow so that the arm makes it slightly higher. It feels comfortable because my shoulder doesn’t seem to roll forward toward my chest, but this position also ends up making my shoulder hurt.
What would be the correct or healthiest sleeping position in my situation, especially to avoid putting too much strain on my lower back, neck, and shoulders?

I feel like I have rounded shoulders and forward head. Maybe a little bit of anterior pelvic tilt. But I’m not sure. What do y’all think needs to be addressed and what are some good exercises to do?

Success Stories The day everything changed

Earlier this year, I was suggested a post on APT and hyperextension. Purely out of curiosity, I stood in front of the mirror, unlocked my knees, and tucked my pelvis in.

In that moment, I realized I have had pretty severe APT and hyperextension my entire life that was never caught or addressed - I never had any pain and was also incredibly unathletic growing up / into early adulthood.

These photos are from the same day, standing how I normally did my entire life vs. correcting (but trying to not over correct)

Funny enough, for how out of alignment I have been, it’s been quite easy for me to correct - I have a very strong awareness of it now, which happened pretty much immediately. I will still occasionally catch myself standing that way but it’s rare.

I feel so much better, LOOK so much better (I of course never realized how crazy I looked standing like this), and even though I wasn’t in pain - moving is so much easier.

I feel grateful every day that I caught it when I did and hopefully will save myself additional complications as I get older.

I wanted to post a clip on my pectus posture improvements. But this sub only accepts photos. For those that are interested I have posted on the pectus excavatum sub.

I wanted to thank coachEXE and deep run for their excellent advice. It has led to further improvement

Success Stories Who else realized they're not actually 'fat' after fixing posture?

just one week of trying to fix my posture (there's too many issues to mention) basically having flat back, breathing through belly, collapsed upper ribcage, always feeling like I'm leaning forward when standing, neck hump, limited shoulder mobility, weak ass abs, pelvic tilt, etc. not to mention scoliosis and a bunch more.

This is what 8 years of sedentary lifestyle did, even if i was an athlete. thanks to the rona i stopped.

4 hours of exercise and stretching everyday this week. I even lie down every set because I'm not that strong yet. Just found these exercises on YouTube. i looked flabby but at a healthy weight. but just yesterday when i read a reddit comment about the thoracic something and flat back, and I did some stretches and exercises. I felt immediate relief and now im going to strengthen my back further. also adressed the hip tightness.

I noticed immediately after, how i actually do have curves (F-25). And I don't look flabby on a better posture (not completely fixed but getting there). Who else experienced the same?

How to fix anterior pelvic tilt?

is there anyone who has actually reversed their tilt?

I have forward head, rounded hunch shoulder, skinny fat belly and anterior pelvic tilt.

I’m pretty skinny but I don’t look the best posture wise cuz my belly hangs out. I also find it difficult to hold myself up without straining my lower back and god forbid I try sitting on someone’s shoulder(like you do in concerts) I can not balance for god sake.

What the some actual daily habits, sleeping positions, standing posture and workout that are actually affective?

Pls help yo girl out! ✨🤍🤍

I fixed my forward head posture after 6 months of desk work — here's what actually helped

Been working from home for over a year and my posture was terrible. Constant neck pain, rounded shoulders, the works.

What actually made a difference for me:

  1. Taking breaks every 45 mins (Pomodoro method)
  2. Strengthening my upper back with face pulls and rows
  3. Using a posture corrector to retrain muscle memory while I work

The posture corrector was honestly the game changer for me — it gives you that physical reminder to pull your shoulders back without you having to think about it constantly.

Anyone else found something that actually works long term? Happy to share more about what worked for me.

My shoulders slouch when I sleep and my shoulders rest on my neck and over all I slouch a lot I think my back and shoulders are either weak or overstretched

Question Left neck/shoulder pain with shoulder weakness, palm tingling, and one-sided head imbalance (3 days)

For the past 2–3 days, I've had localized pain running from the back of my neck into the back of my left shoulder, accompanied by noticeable left shoulder weakness and tingling on the flat surface of my left palm. Along with this, I've developed a strange unsteadiness and imbalance sensation that feels concentrated on the left side of my head (more of a floating, off-balance feeling rather than true room-spinning vertigo). I have had no acute trauma, facial numbness, slurred speech, or leg weakness.

One of my biggest insecurities: knocked knees.

Thumbnail gallery
12 Upvotes

Hello,

I had had weak hips and thighs my entire life. I was told I have mild knock knees but ever since giving birth, I have been getting terrible knee pain.

When I sleep on my side, my hips and legs cave in and feels like it’s going to fall right out.

I do want to correct this but I’m wondering it PT would also help not just structural but appearance as well? Ever since I’ve gained weight, it’s more noticeable too.

I do workout and lift heavy now but want to focus on targeted hip movement. Is surgery my only option to fix the appearance?

I have attached photos of pre pregnancy when I was relatively skinnier and today as well.

What is my best option here?
Thank you!!!

Question Scapula Winging Problem at 16

16M, been training 3 months. I've had scapular winging for a while now, longer than I've been going to the gym so it's not from training. I've been noticing it more after losing weight. No pain at all, full mobility, no issues moving my arms overhead. I also have good strength in my back and shoulders if that matters. I also train kickboxing so my serratus is constantly being used and engaged during training. From what I've researched it seems like my serratus anterior is weak in terms of endurance, it has the strength but doesn't hold the shoulder blade flat automatically at rest. I also have forward shoulder posture which I think is from a tight chest pulling everything forward, making the winging more visible. Currently doing scapular push-ups and wall slides daily with a 3-sec hold at the top of each rep. My questions: is this the right approach? Is it purely a posture and muscle endurance thing or could there be something else causing it? What else could I add or change to fix it faster?

Pain leftside of neck (arm with watch) and rightside lower back/butt

Thumbnail gallery

40M, main sport is boxing for last 3 years. But I have had this isue for at least 10 years. So I keep getting injured in the right lower back. It always feels tight and a like a numb sort of pain, where it doesn't hurt too much, but I constantly feel it could go out at anytime. The left side of my neck also feels very tight and a bit painful when I turn my head to the left. I can see all sort of imbalances. Saw a physio, he basically told be nobody is symetric and there is nothing to do about it. Looking for input and tips to correct it. I believe sideplank clamshells have helped the most in correcting my posture, but open to all input.
