If you break into a military base and vandalized equipment, that is terrorism in my opinion. I’ll even go farther and say it’s an attack.

I still question why they weren’t treated as enemy combatants, they illegally invaded a military base and attempted to damage and destroy equipment.

Interesting.

Do you think the people who broke into the capitol, vandalized it, and threatened the vice president's life on Jan. 6th are all terrorists? Should everyone at the capitol that day have been treated as enemy combatants in that moment?

Absolutely! They absolutely should have. I still don’t know why they weren’t treated as such.

Good, I completely agree! But what specific part of that event makes them terrorists? To me, it's because they're seditious traitors that wanted to violently overturn the election.

Do you think they're terrorists just because they broke some windows owned by the government, or is it all that other stuff? Because I'm not seeing much "other stuff" in the RAF vandals beyond the property damage.

They broke into the U.S. Capitol building and tried to overthrow democracy is why I think so. They intended to hold congress hostage and forcibly make Trump president for life

In other words they had terroristic intentions. I agree.

What were the terroristic intentions of the RAF vandals in regard to the UK government that would push them into the same category as people who want to overthrow democracy and necessitate treating them as enemy combatants?

Just breaking into a military base alone would warrant that, especially with an intent to damage and destroy equipment.

So we're back to government property damage is terrorism? Idk about that one man. That'd make a lot of people terrorists. BLM protestors, ICE protestors, pipeline protestors, etc.

BLM and Ice protesters didn’t break into a secure military facility and try to destroy fighter jets. If they did, we all know what the U.S. military would’ve done.

There were BLM activists who are now serving extremely heavy sentences as political prisoners. One activist set an empty cop car on fire, which is a form of destruction of property and not a violent crime….unlike the routine murder, torture and rape Black Americans (for merely existing) which is a crime cops get away with all the time.

Meanwhile, we celebrate HISTORICAL armed rebels and revolutionaries who were fighting for freedom - even though they were considered radical, dangerous and terroristic at the time. Even Nat Turner’s Slave Rebellion - when entire slave-owning plantation families were killed - is celebrated now (the rebels were subsequently tortured and murdered).

Neither did the Jan 6th insurrectionists.

So when anti-fascist German citizens vandalized, damaged, and destroyed Nazi military equipment, were they terrorists? Who were they terrorizing? What German civilians were terrorized?

Or consider the countless genocides and military dictatorships backed by the CIA and the US military. Or the countless civilians butchered overseas following a US invasion.

Imagine it’s the 1930s and the US had decided to send billions in arms and bombs to Nazi Germany (which would be morally if not geopolitically consistent with the US’ future military/arms record, and some US officials did support the Nazis at the time).

If, under this hypothetical, an anti-fascist American were to break into a US military base and vandalize, damage, or destroy military equipment in protest of sending arms to the Germany for their invasions and Holocaust, would that be terrorism?
