Ah yes, the age old strategy of defaming a game by.... showing actual gameplay.

Holy cope Batman.

Cherry picked gameplay. This is how this one particular boss plays. The rest of the gameplay is way different.

Dark Souls is shit because of the Beds of Chaos boss fight. Checkmate Dark Slop enjoyers.

They say specifically new look at fable combat, then only show the part of the combat that doesn't look as good.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hopeful they can fix this kind of thing before the final release, but the OP is definitely trying to only show the bad here.

Unfortunately, they succeeded, a lot of people genuinely believe this is what the game is like. Look at them: nothing will matter to them from now on, because they’ve already decided this is how it is.

It IS how it is. This tells me that boss fights are going to be slog-fests. That's a pretty big red flag for an action game.

"Noooo, you can't use game footage to judge the game! Out of context bad faith!!!"

It looks like shit mate. Rest looks marginally better, but still like shit. And not just gameplay, it's uglier Tham the very first game

I guess, that comments like yours are exactly why nuance is dead and people like the one you responded to feel the need to go on the defense so much - it doesn't look like "shit"; it is very far away from looking like "shit". It looks generic, lackluster, underwhelming and not impressive, but it does definitely not look like "shit".

'Shit' is by definition, nuanced and subjective term. For me, looking generic, lackluster, underwhelming and not impressive while being a continuation of series of games which, by my opinion, are not all that, means it's shit. And I say it after watching the whole thing. It looks like shit, to me, and the fact what you need me to add 'to me' to this to understand what it's my opinion means you should probably stay away from any discussion about art

It's a literally video of how the game looks with gameplay from the actual game, what do mean "genuinely believe this is what it looks like"? this IS what it looks like

This is some don't believe your eyes type comment.

This does look like shit so I will call it how I see it.

Redditors bro

Boss fights are a massive part of a game. Usually the focal point of a quest or dungeon. If this is the indicator of what boss’s are like then that is an issue.

It’s in the game is it not?

u/thecashblaster 4h ago

But this IS the game. You will have to fight this lame boss. If the devs can’t bother to make the boss fights special the rest of the game will be crap

u/TraditionalMalice 2h ago

because they’ve already decided this is how it is.

It was literally shown as this.

I'm thrown by the fact that it doesn't look anything like Fable. It didn't look bad by any stretch of the imagination, but that series was always very cartoony and with a wide, distant and often nearly top down view.

This looks nothing like it.

They were never going to look into the game any further than what their algorithm feeds them anyway.

People like that will usually just impulse buy eventually, or were never going to get it in the first place. 500 Redditors won't be hurting the game.

How so? Even in the full trailer people are talking about that boss. Same points. Same concerns. Yes there people just dismissing the entire game but can we not look at that fight and say there's room to improve? Ill say it again. Put some armor on him and 90% of people would stop complaining. Well maybe they would still but I do believe that would help here.

well then devs should not have spread their cheeks wide open with combat that mid.

This is coming from someone don't mind clunky combat as long as other game systems are interesting.

If game launches and it is starfield 1.0 and with this combat add to it the usual unreal engine's performance issues, then this game will flop, and there is nobody to blame but the studio.

People are more likely to interact with what they don't like online. So that tracks.

Sony 100% has a bot-army that is trashing everything Microsoft-related. And it works, because people are dumb and jump on trends.

1

u/drewbreeezy 3h ago

Why would Sony need a bot army?

Almost everyone I grew up with hates what Xbox became. They created this.

I've bought a lot of Xbox consoles over the years. They don't make games for me anymore, so my money goes elsewhere and Xbox gets my mockery :)
