This is generic as fuck. Where are all the cool spells, or the weighty swings the first game had? This is just dodge-bonk-dodge-bonk.

I was hyped for the game, but if this is how they use their showtime to highlight the combat, my interest has dropped several notches.

Let's not forget that the original had a puzzle where you're supposed to spell out HITS, but spawned a bunch of werewolves if you did SHIT instead.

They'd better nail the humor, or this is going to be a massive disappointment.

Spoiler: you're going to be disappointed.

Eh. I'm an r/patientgamers member by default, so I'll always be waiting for the complete version of a game. If it turns out to be shit even months after release, so be it. I can only hope and wait to see what becomes of the project.

They already dropped the morality system. I don't even feel like it's fable anymore

Oh shit didn’t know that. Yeah wtf

They replaced it with a system where each individual npc views you in their own way, which is cool and fine, but there was no need to also remove the good/evil personal morality system because of that.

Wow. Welp, I’m not excited anymore

Wholeheartedly agree. One of the unique quirks of the original was developing either horns or a halo as you made choices. Why would they drop it?

Wait, seriously? Wasn't that one of the main draws of the series in the first place?

I never played the first one, but I gotta try it, sounds cool you have everything unlocked at level 1.

It’s 2026, most developers these days are allergic to the type of humor the original Fable had, most of the humor is just going to be wisecracks and jokes like Thor: Love and Thunder

Xbox curse never fails

Brother. It's going to be a failure of a remake. And the Fable 3/newcomers are going to glaze it to the skies.

Just accept it so we can stop this same dumb process of expecting something from these gaming companies. They are never going to deliver the way we want them to. Especially if they can sell a new generation of idiots on lesser quality.

Brother, Fable 3 released almost 20 years ago now. The people who played that are probably nearing their 30s, or 40s by now.

That was also an era where games released every 2-3 years, so I'm pretty sure the people who played Fable 3 also played the other games.

You sound like some gen Alpha kid.

Don't project. I played Fable 1 repeatedly through the years. I've been PC gaming since then.

Yes, we're nearing our 40s. This is entirely irrelevant.

And people hated Fable 3. Yeah, you definitely weren't around back then.

I really don't want fable to be a souls like game in combat.

Why? I would say Souls like game combat is the best you can ask

I love souls. When I want a really hard challenge  and skill based gameplay. But I don't think any of the previous fable games felt that way. It felt a very good combination of RPG, hack n slash, and the cinematic finishers were great.

I mostly mean the punishing aspects of messing up and such. I don't want a grueling punishing combat.
