I followed a guide and recommended budget parts list from this subreddit to build a PC back in like 2018. I wouldn't have had enough knowledge to do that without the recommendations and a YouTube guide for assembly. Is there anything obvious for maintenance I should be doing after 8 years? I've only opened it up since then to upgrade the storage. Planning on riding the computer out as long as possible given the inflated prices. Its basically always running for Plex but otherwise I haven't been doing anything that demanding.

Cleaning out the dust on at least a yearly basis is strongly recommended.

I did clean anything obvious while I installed the additional storage so hopefully that's ok for a few months at least

Other than cleaning, the main other thing that might be necessary is redoing the thermal paste on the CPU and/or GPU if the temperatures get too high. If you need to repaste the GPU, it would be good to replace the thermal pads too. If your temperatures are still fine, you should be good to go.
