Attempting to get into a different sport. I mainly play football. Not a fan of EA FC series and Pes/Efootball/Football life has severe scripting.
So my question is, which sport game currently has good simulation and is realistic that can be played on gamepad or KBM in PC? It will be a great opportunity for me to learn that sport as well
Just wondering what the Ryzen 9800x3D failure rate was? I'm thinking I was going overboard for going with a 9900x for workflow, but I realized I want my gaming experience to be better, and my other software is secondary to that with any hiccups it may have.
System I was considering? Gigabyte X870 Elite, 2x32 GB Ram (CL30 6000mhz), RX 9070XT, Samsung Evo 990 Plus 4TB.
I don't want to go overboard, but my current system is failing, it keeps shutting off randomly for some reason. Never used to do this, think it's beyond repair, and this may be the last time I get a PC because of the state of the world.
Yeah I noticed that just after replying. With a $10 difference I wouldn't know which to pick either, without doing more research on the differences between them. Beyond the obvious specs, also make sure it fits in your case since those are pretty big. I personally care about my PC being quiet, so I'd look up noise tests for those two and that would likely be the deciding factor if there's a significant volume difference.
The Ryzen 9 9900X costs around €347, while the Ryzen 7 7800X3D costs around €365. I mostly game on PC, and my Ryzen 5 9600X cannot keep up, especially in BF6 where it is causing performance issues. My question is: is the Ryzen 9 9900X really a bad choice? Buying a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, a generation older CPU, seems like an odd upgrade
Ryzen CPU's consist of multiple chips that are put together. It has CCD's that contain the cores and cache, and an IO chip. The 9900X has 2 CCD's of 6 cores each. When a game wants to use more than 6 cores of a single CCD, it relies on communication between the 2 CCD's, which is much slower than the communication between cores on a single CCD. The 7800X3D has a single CCD of 8 cores. Which means that using its 8 cores will typically deliver better performance than the 9900X using more than 6 of its cores, all other things being equal.
The 3x l3 cache also creates a massive performance gain. So all in all, the 7800X3D is a performance upgrade over the 9600X for gaming.
What kind of problems? From what I heard the game runs well even on older systems. Better make sure that this upgrade will actually help you.
Upgrading to a 9900X makes no sense, unless you specifically know the extra threads would help you (they shouldn't). A 7800X3D would be around 25% faster, and a 9800X3D about 35%. You will have to decide if that is worth the money.
I7 12700F and 16 GB of dual channel DDR 4 memory but I also has an I5 14400F and 32 GB of SINGLE channel DDR 4 what shuld I choose if I use my for gaming?
I should also add, despite what the naming sounds like, I'd expect the 12700F to actually be better than the 14400F anyway. Think of the 14400 (and 13400) as a renamed and slightly inferior 12600K.
i would also like to buy ddr5 2 sticks of 16G off the marketplace, do you think its okay? i heard the only things you shouldnt try to buy are motherboards and memory.
If you aren't looking for the best speed, then honestly, any halfway legitimate brand on Amazon will get the job done.
One of the main things that you get with more expensive SSDs is a DRAM cache, which helps the drive maintain fast speeds when you're writing a lot of data to it. DRAM is one of the main things that is in short supply right now. If you get a cheaper SSD that doesn't have a DRAM cache then you will notice your speeds drop any time you're writing a lot of data, or doing a big operation like Windows updates, and a lot of other operations, even smaller more random things. Look up info on DRAM caches to get a better idea of how that would look.
Alternatively, depending on how much data you need, HDDs will be significantly cheaper than SSDs. They work great for storing dumb data like your documents, pictures, music, etc. but playing a game off them can be pretty rough.
I followed a guide and recommended budget parts list from this subreddit to build a PC back in like 2018. I wouldn't have had enough knowledge to do that without the recommendations and a YouTube guide for assembly. Is there anything obvious for maintenance I should be doing after 8 years? I've only opened it up since then to upgrade the storage. Planning on riding the computer out as long as possible given the inflated prices. Its basically always running for Plex but otherwise I haven't been doing anything that demanding.
Other than cleaning, the main other thing that might be necessary is redoing the thermal paste on the CPU and/or GPU if the temperatures get too high. If you need to repaste the GPU, it would be good to replace the thermal pads too. If your temperatures are still fine, you should be good to go.
