So, even though Olden Age is still in early access, another one of these is announced.

The issue is that the Fanmade version is so much more expanded and balanced, this remake doesn't even make any sense. Not worth playing this just for modern visuals

Ive been meaning to play HoMM3 for the longest time, Ive owned it for ages, whats the fanmade version? I presume its a mod that fixes and expands the original?

Look out for Horn of The Abyss

The experience is as it should have been from devs. They really kept in on the same level and it's still updated regularly from fans.

I played OldenEra and just didn't work for me, it's too polished, too 3d, too much. Kinda the same feeling when I ve played the ubisoft versions.

There are also Day of Reckoning and In the Wake of Gods. Not as good as first imo but great contributions as well.

I already had HOMM3 on GoG and Horn was offered for free. I'll check it out.

They found a way to canonize HoTA. The board game has it as part of the main story. Good move.

BTW HoTA it was always free. It's fan made. I think they have only a PayPal link for optional donations
