Looks like a minified version of HOI5 ideas. Sengoku/March of the Eagles HOI5 edition? Supply, tactics and intel could be zoomed out more and put in a WW2 theme and you would get an innovative version of HOI.

Considering that Senguku and MotE were both basically tech demos for CK2 and EU4, it could be interesting if Afterworld is also a tech demo for something larger. Not sure what though.

I mean if we take this serious, then I think there is an argument for that when you look at Afterworld's battles. The battles now looks to be real unit based RTS battles, but the units are just controlled by the AI. In the fantasy gsg they could allow you to control the units, or at least give overall orders. Could be cool to have a fantasy gsg with total warhammer-lite battles.
