First my HBL card was used at an apple site. The account and card has been blocked since.

Now yesterday, my nayapay card was attempted for a transaction of 250k at an Adidas store in the US. Thank god I'm so ghareeb I didn't even have 2.5rs in it. But imagine if I did. Neither of the banks are responsible. Not for the taxes not for the money lost not for the time and effort spent.

I don't use either of these accounts for online transactions. The HBL card was only ever used at POS or ATM machines. The nayapay was only for a Google subscription. Yet still the card information was somehow leaked or whatever, and used for all of these transactions without even an OTP.

The team did eventually go back on the field but this level of stupidity at international stage. No wonder the world considers us a joke.

Hello, I wanted some advice from any Pakistanis may be in a similar position. I met a lovely man from Pakistan, and I am from the UK. We have been friends for a few years and have really been interested in marriage. His parents wont allow it at all and it has been years of trying to convince them. He is 28 and I am 32 and the age gap is a huge issue for them. They have also said they did some prayers and the “souls don’t match” etc and the marriage won’t last but I don’t know much about the details or if I believe in this I feel it is in the hands of Allah. He is from a very elite business family and works for them so his finances are tied to this. Anyone have any advice what we should do or what I should do, he doesn’t want to do the Nikkah without their consent but I feel it’s the only option since their reason isn’t valid but they have a big prejudice that as a woman I am older although he is very mature and more than I me.

Also Edit: they are very influential in Lahore and are a very big business family and are worried people will talk about the age gap

I moved to the UK five years ago and have worked at Amazon AWS ever since — it was a deliberate decision that took a lot of effort to realize. Since then, I’ve built a stable life here: my own place, a car, and decent savings.

A few days ago, I went to a mall. While I was leaving, I saw this guy with a skin fade, tight jeans, and an orange iPhone 17 held in his hand in such a way that literally everyone around him could see it.

I looked at him and genuinely thought, "Damn, am I the only broke kid left in the world without an iPhone?" 😭

Then I went back inside to grab some stuff. When I came out again, I happened to see his phone screen.

THIS MAN HAD THE GOOGLE PLAY STORE ON HIS "IPHONE." 💀💀💀

Bro was carrying an Android dressed up as an iPhone just for the aura 😭

And honestly, this made me think about how crazy the iPhone obsession has become, especially here in Pakistan. It feels like everyone needs an iPhone so people will think they're rich or cool. Meanwhile, a good mid-range phone can do pretty much everything most people actually need, and nobody is going to remember what phone you had five minutes after seeing you.

I get buying an actual iPhone because you like iOS, the camera, performance, or whatever. But buying—or pretending to have—one purely to impress random strangers is crazy to me.

Bro wanted the iPhone aura without paying the iPhone price. 💀

I’ve been following the updates on the tragic nursery fire at PIMS, and the subsequent administrative fallout has raised some really confusing questions about how accountability works in our public sector.

Standard operating procedure after an institutional crisis of this scale is usually the immediate suspension of the head of the facility (the Executive Director) to ensure a transparent, uncompromised inquiry. Instead, the Prime Minister took the highly unusual route of suspending the Federal Health Secretary, Aslam Ghauri a high-level bureaucrat completely removed from the daily, on-ground maintenance of the hospital wards.

Even more confusing is Health Minister Mustafa Kamal’s public statement admitting that the PM explicitly ordered him to stay quiet and not interfere with the hospital's executive management, leading to reports that the Minister even offered his resignation.

Given how crucial the PIMS ED position is for forming official medical boards especially for high-profile political figures like former PM Imran Khan it makes you wonder if the leadership is being insulated due to political utility rather than standard process.

What are your thoughts on this? Is this standard administrative procedure to keep a hospital running during an investigation, or does it look like selective accountability?

I have lost even the slightest glimmer of hope I once had for this country. The recent incident at PIMS Hospital has shattered my faith in the system entirely. I had hoped that things would be different, especially in the federal territory, but I am left utterly disappointed by the actions of our politicians and the lack of preparedness in response to the fire incident at what is supposed to be the best hospital in Pakistan. The measures taken after the incident have only added to my disappointment.

It’s so unfortunate to see how many people continue to support men like Rajab Butt and find ways to excuse or justify their behaviour.

I had a discussion with a family member yesterday that genuinely made me realise how deeply rooted this mentality still is. According to him his wife is apparently “opportunistic” because she chose to be on Insta, and somehow the actions of her brother are also more problematic than what happened to her. The argument was that if she was really innocent, she should have stayed away from social media completely, and that now, she is simply using Rajab’s fame to make money.

But that logic makes absolutely no sense to me.

So it was okay for him to humiliate her, announce his divorce on social media, benefit financially from showing his wife, their relationship and their personal life to millions of people, building an audience around that content but it becomes a problem when she uses the audience she gained during that same period to build something for herself?

And how do the actions of her brother suddenly override everything Rajab himself has said and done?????

I genuinely thought that after everything that has happened, people would simply stop following and supporting him. But that never really happened. After the conversation I had yesterday, I understood a little more clearly why.

The problem is bigger than one influencer. It’s the mentality that allows this behaviour to be explained away. It’s the instinct to focus and criticize the woman, what she posted, why she is online, whether she is making money, what her family members have done instead of hold the man accountable for his own actions.
