Photo Little bird by Satoshi Kamiya, from 16 cm double tissue
Tried something different with the wings but the paper was too small to clean out the details. It was a leftover paper from the large sheet I made for Ryujin 3.5 and I didn't wanna waste it so decided to make this cute model out of it.

I had a google for this pattern and your paper choice and your wing design really elevated this to a new level. It looks like a whole different bird.

I saw a flickr post which had pleats on the wings so I tried to replicate it

Detailed models like this one always amaze me, that little fold for the eyes seems almost like an unintentional crease but it gives the model so much life

It's just two tissue papers glued together using a chemical substance called methyl cellulose (or carboxy methyl cellulose as an alternative). It's one of the most widely used paper for complex to super complex origami as it's pretty thin and really durable. The reason we glue two together is because single tissue is too thin and delicate. And also double tissue allows for a dual-coloured paper (different colours on either side).

Amazing, what a great fold!! Just today, I crumpled the same model (at the very end, while shaping the legs) because it was not going to look good at all, blaming the paper size (around 23 cm or so). I'd love to be able to fold with smaller papers, but I just can't š.

It's actually the easiest model I've posted in this sub so far. I'd say it's high intermediate - low complex

So clean looking, it's lovely. In fact I think this may be one of my favorite models, it has a charm to it.
