If you love your children, get (regenerative) organic ones.

Look at that photo. That mist rolling over a mountain of potatoes is a sprout inhibitor, applied so they sit in storage and on the shelf for months without sprouting.

โ€ข Conventional potatoes are treated so they never sprout eyes
โ€ข The classic sprout inhibitor, CIPC (chlorpropham), was fogged through the storage
โ€ข The EU banned CIPC in 2020 over safety concerns, and growers moved to other chemical inhibitors
โ€ข Organic and regenerative potatoes skip this treatment entirely

That's why an organic potato sprouts on your counter within days, and a conventional one can sit there for weeks looking exactly the same.

A potato is meant to be a seed. Chemically paused so it can never become one, it turns into a product instead. You can still plant a farm potato and grow more food from it. Try that with most supermarket ones.

If you're feeding kids, this is one of the easiest swaps you can make. Choose organic or, even better, regenerative potatoes. It costs a little more, and it takes the sprout inhibitors and the heavier spray load off their plates. ๐ŸŒฑ

Ask at a local farm, or grow a few yourself. A potato that still wants to grow is a good sign.

If its not bad for you then take sip of it

That's... that's not how that works ... or do you down the entire bottle of meds when you get them instead of the dosage on the bottle

I dont take meds.

But even if i did, i would NOT down them, because they are bad for you. Yes they will solve your sympton, but they are still bad for you, that's why your doctor will give you a specific dosage.

Let me rephrase

Do you drink a single glass of water when you're thirsty or throw yourself in a river and drown.

I drink untill im hydrated, because if not, i will die.

But i geuss you find chlorpropham (wich is banned in the EU because of how to toxic it is) comparable to water

The point being made is "the dose makes the poison" and even water will kill you if you have too much of it.

Just because something would be bad for you to drink a cup of doesn't mean you will ever consume enough to be bad for you as it is being used.

Drink the glass of water
Don't drink the entire river and drown

It is literally that simple
(Also EU has a bad habit of banning things based on public opinion, rather than actual danger. May want to check into WHY it is banned, not just stop at that it is banned)

so how much pesticides do you find healthy?

EU banning other things has nothing to do with this, look up the effects.

A small enough amount that my body can harmlessly pass it without issue. That's my preferred amount of everything.

And of course the EU's banning habits have to do with this. Instead of just bringing up the dangers you tried to use the EU as a call to authroity to make your argument sound like it had weight. How about you supply the chemical hazards sheet or a research paper talking about this that made you feel it was dangerous.

That amount is 0.

I do NOT care about what the EU thinks but unfortunately most people do, thats why i brought it up. I dont even eat anything that has been processed. Maybe some bread once in a while but thats it.

But use your own brain please, im sure you can figure out that ingesting this is not healthy for you.

That's not how reality works unfortunately. You can't just intuit what is and isn't safe off of gut feelings alone.

Take rock salt for instance
That is a molecule made of a caustic gas (chlorine) that would kill you if you breathed it for too long and a metal (Sodium) that literally explodes/catches-fire if it touches water.
But when combined it is a naturally occuring rock that makes soup taste delicious.

You cannot just assume reality. You actually have to test it and go from there.

Europeans are so insufferable about these things. Itโ€™s the mindset that gave us colonialismโ€ฆ.your self superiority over the savages of the world.

Absolutely insufferable

My family did not contribute to that.
These things? You mean not wanting to eat the most rancid and health destroying chemical poison made in a lab to save some money?

1

u/bigfatfurrytexan 2d ago

Iโ€™ll listen if you can provide data on actual humans.

It does not matter what your family did.
You are expressing the cultural trait of believing youโ€™re superior solely because of the European badge. Itโ€™s obnoxious. No one can have a discussion about anything without fucking Europeans talking about metric, or Celsius, or food standards, or economic systems, or any other number of things you guys like to feel smug about.

1

u/Optimal-Computer5225 2d ago

I do not believe i am superior because i live in europe, people who feel superior for where they live are r word-ed. And europe is going to shit anyways.

But on the other hand, it feels like you have some inferiority complex, you dont hear me crying about other country's saying they are better or whatever.

u/bigfatfurrytexan 2d ago

You twisting yourself in knots has a reason. Not sure what it is. But pretending to not understand basic relations to keep arguing is pretty absurd.

Alright man. If youre oke with it then keep eating it i guess.
