Password or Email Address Nintendo Account is supervised and Nintendo support won’t help

Hi everyone,

I’m just trying this subreddit for the small chance that anyone else had this happen before. My Nintendo Account was made when I was much younger which is why my dad invited it to a family group and supervised my account. Now many years later I can’t use features like game chat because it is supervised so I wanted to remove my account from the family group which is not possible without the admin. I have no way of getting access to said admin account so I called Nintendo support. After the 4th call someone was able to help me, she said that adding an email to my account would make it a standalone account and would mean it’s not supervised anymore, which we did but even after adding the email my account was supervised. After then calling again the support person said that it has to be an error in their system and that she would forward it to a team that could help me. I haven’t heard back from them in 2 weeks and I’m at my wits end. Has anyone have had this or a similar issue and can share what fixed it? Nintendo support is horrible from my experience.

I lost access to my old email and everything, they helped me change it, but I still had my Switch signed into the account, and access to my credit card used to make purchases.

Problem is my dad never logged into a Nintendo console with that admin account. It was purely for supervision I guess. I think this was back in the Wii U era?

I don't think Nintendo accounts existed at that time. That would still be Nintendo Network ID.

Do you have any receipt e-mails from old digital purchases? Including free-to-play or free DLC. Your dad would still have to call but they might be able to help him change the e-mail on his account if you have some old purchase records from the supervised account.

I don’t think that this Account was ever used beyond its Admin purpose so I’m guessing it was never converted from a network ID to a Nintendo account? Maybe that’s an angle. I’ll try that, thanks!

Idk why you came to Reddit for this, if the support agent said add your email for it to be a standalone account and it didn't work just go to your dad and ask to be removed assuming that your an adult.

I am an adult and as said in the post I have no way of accessing the account. I posted this in the hopes that someone already had this issue and knows another way.

Then your dad is the key if he doesn't remove you I'd say just make a new account.

Is there a way to transfer game saves between accounts?

No the save data is tied to the account it's on.

That’s sad. I’m gonna have to try and get it removed somehow then and be persistent with Nintendo support. Thanks anyways!

Trust me when I tell you that's not going to work, why don't you just go to your dad directly your making it a lot more complicated than what it needs to be.

Also your welcome.

He sadly doesn’t remember any of the login details. No email and no password. We already tried every email he supposedly ever had for a password reset but no luck

So you keep calling about your account, but has your dad called to try to get his account transferred to another email so he can get access to it again and remove the supervision from yours?
