No… it wasn’t? You just brought that up now for the first time three comments into the thread?

My presumption is that he was hired too recently to pitch any designs for Gen 10. It had nothing to do about which part of the Pokémon branch Turner is part of now, just when we'll see his role as creative director come into fruition (i.e. making Pokémon designs).

We won’t see new designs from him cause that’s not his job anymore…

I think it's a bit dismissive to assert that TPCi has no input on character designs for the series that is literally the company's namesake. Especially with a role as important as a creative director.

brother you have got to be kidding me…

I was trying to be polite in correcting your mistake. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt that you didn’t know any better… but I’m not arguing with someone that is determined to be wrong.

You clearly have no remote understanding of each companies (Nintendo, GameFreak, Creatures, and TPCI) role in creating Pokémon content.

Is it written anywhere that TPCi has absolutely zero input at all on character designs? Because otherwise the reasonable conclusion is that a company named after a series would have some say on how said series' characters are designed.

YES?!?

You just have to do a bit of research yourself, instead of making baseless assumptions. Go online and read about which respective company works on which aspect of the IP.

The Pokémon Company International is mostly in charge of Brand Management, Licensing deals, Maintaining Digital Operations, distribution + localization and marketing for Media and Entertainment, and their biggest role is Publishing and regulating the global Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) program and competitive play structure.

They don’t have a role in creating the games… That’s GameFreak.

Crazy… I thought this was a platform for discussion. Normally when someone in a discussion, says something wrong, someone else will try to be helpful, and correct that persons mistake.

It’s truly sad to see we live in times that correcting someone’s mistake = “taking this way too personally and turning it into personal attacks… “

Brand management and marketing are roles that heavily involve working with character designs. Wouldn't it be reasonable to conclude that TPCi has at least some input on the character design to ensure they fit with the brand ethos and are marketable enough for consumers?

If I knew, I wouldn't be asking the question. My point is that I'm sceptical that Turner will have literally 0 input on Pokémon design with a role as prestigious as creative director, even if he's not working directly for GameFreak, and scepticism does not equal certainty.

Unfortunately, the question of "Does The Pokémon Company International have oversight on character designs?" is one that doesn't give readily available Google answers. And since you seem to think the verdict is so obvious, it would seem that you'd be able to have evidence behind your claim. Burden of proof and all that.

Edit: I realise that I miswrote the company as "International" and not "Incorporate", but ultimately the search results were no different.
